    lol!

Yeah that kick was zig-zagging all over the place.

It's like Nick is the R.A. Dickey of Kickers or something.

Call them Knuckle-kicks......'cause you never know which direction they will head. :rofl2:

I thought Harrison was a beast but how about the love for Kellen Winslow? Let's hope he keeps it up because he had a great game.

Demario Davis....chased down Vincent Jackson from behind on that last FG drive by the bucs. That one play showed the difference between last year and this year on this defense - just younger and faster.

Had Sanchez been the QB we would have taken 40 sacks..I wonder how many people lose site of that. Smith was running for his life most of the day but at least he could.

    - Folk - came up big when it mattered the most
    - Snacks - was impressed by his play and great to get another good body along that line
    - Hill - some good receptions and showed toughness

Absolutely a huge game-saving play by him and extremely impressive. However the rest of the game he was very very mediocre at best. It almost looks like he lacks the necessary aggression to be play ILB. I did not see him in the mix of alot of plays and he seemed to be out of place a couple times in his assignments. I'd be very interested to read about what Pro Football Focus would say about him. Maybe it's just me

He will have to transition into RG. If he works out as RG, even better - but I don't expect it. Winters may be a better fit at LG.

As of right now, Austin Howard is rated the highest tackle in the league through eight games by PFF.

Im not going to mention any names this early but you would have to go to the stock exchange to find the last time I have been this excited about a front 3 or 4. Imagine when Coples comes back.

The thing that has me curious is that Rex isnt even used to getting that kind of pressure because he was still blitzing big time late in the game when he could have rushed 4 or 5 tops.

We know what we have in Wilkerson but Richardson? This guy has an incredible motor..incredible motor..you cant teach that.

The only thing that worries me about Richardson is that he is going to burn out if Rex doesnt find a solid subsitution pattern.

Harrison has been a real shocker. When Coples comes back...the qb pressure is going to be as good as its been for the Jets in decades.

Either way that's awesome to read. Hopefully he can keep it up and help keep Geno alive.

EDIT: Nevermind. I read it incorrectly. My mistake

My players are Folk for obvious reasons.

Harrison who really moved the line. I thought he'd be a good big body who clogs the middle but he was a force on certain plays. Definitely love his potential subbing in and out with Ellis.

Bohanon shows to be versatile and I liked what I saw out of him.

And lastly Hill played better than I expected. Showed nice hands on a few plays. Got open. I think having better offensive coaches and another offseason has really helped him take another step.

Bohanon certainly gave us a glimpse he can be a sparingly used weapon out of the backfield, but his blocking was awful at best. As a rook not going to get on him too bad for it but it's an area he needs an insane amount of improvement on. Definitely not worthy of a game ball at all.

I'm disappointed that MM never tried to take a shot with Hill downfield. Or with anyone for that matter. Not a single 7-step drop-n-bomb all game. Got to keep a Def on their toes and the safeties in check. Hope to see more aggressiveness against the Pats. Hill also needs to work on getting some more YAC ability on short to intermediate routes. He too often went side to side trying to shake defenders when he was free instead of going upfield.

Very interesting. I'm going to have to go back and rewatch the game because I thought D'Brick did much better than this. Per PFF:

    Mixed Results at Offensive Tackle

Normally, the performance of right tackle Austin Howard (+5.2) would be a story enough on its own, with the former undrafted free agent producing a Pass Blocking Efficiency Rating of 97.0, allowing just two total pressures. His play against the run (+2.6) was even better, with him being one of just three Jets — and the only offensive lineman — to finish the game with a positive run blocking grade. Topping it all off, he had two nice blocks on screens to top off one of the most complete performances you’ll find from Week 1.

Unfortunately, the bigger story may actually be the struggles of D’Brickashaw Ferguson (-2.8), who looked nothing like the player who finished last year as our sixth highest-graded left tackle. Allowing five hurries, he struggled heavily as a run blocker and was guilty of committing two penalties. It’s just the opening week, but Jets fans will be hoping this was a one-off and not a sign of things to come.

Did anyone see Spadola in the game, If I am correct he never touched the field once. I understand it was a close, tight game but I thought he would be in on a few plays.

I agree.. I thought he played poorly too. He had a false start and I felt allot of pressure came from his side. I hope I'm wrong, but at some point I said to myself. He's getting killed out there

Spadola was in for a few plays. One that I can remember is on the Winslow TD. Spadola was open in the corner on that play too.

I just absolutely love Snacks. I just remember in the Giants preseason game wondering who this guy with the long hair in the D line was, I thought he was awesome. He did not disappoint yesterday. I must say I was so impressed with Wilkerson yesterday, just more his demeanor and presence. I had the look of a guy who now knows he can dominate in the league and carries himself like it. I always felt Kris Jenkins was Rex Ryan on the field- Big Brash, Confident and that lifted the intensity of everyone else on the Defense. This year I see guys all across the line- Harrison, Ellis, Wilkerson, Richardson, Coples who are going to play, play confident/ cocky and really embody what Rex Ryan wants from his defense.
I am hesitant to say I am confident and excited about this team on a whole but as far as the defense, the youth on that side of the ball I am jacked to see a defense just get better and better all year. Snacks, Mo, Coples, Ellis, Richardson- big big men who move.

I thought it was more an occasion where he just absolutely mashed the ball. That was good from 65 easy. It actually never wavered off course just to me it appeared like a ball hit so hard.

Gotta go with Big Mo, Richardson (I was surprised at how disruptive he was, he's a beast!) And Geno.

Special mention to Davis with that game saving tackle and Folk for being clutch. Snacks was also better than anticipated, Hill was good towards the end of the game but was almost invisible early on and have to say KW Jr exceeded my expectations.

For negatives I would say the oline, run game (which is linked to oline) and secondary in general although they made a few good plays (especially Allen).
