I also wouldn't mind if we picked him, projected to go right after we pick:
    30. (62) Minnesota Vikings (Needs: CB, RB, DT)
    Torell Troup, DT, Central Florida

I also think there are gonna be a ton more trades today, so this is all moot... but fun to watch!

what about taylor mays? we still need help at safety. i know everyones saying we need to get some depth on the d line and o line to replace faneca. i know ellis is old and jason taylors are getting into their late 30s but we're going all out to win the super bowl THIS YEAR. we can hold off on the line for a year since we have guys who are serviceable.

we should try to get a safety. as of right now we have eric smith? i know taylor mays has trouble covering in the past but we have a coaching staff that could help that, after all developed darelle revis to become the best db in the league. plus, we have 2 and possibly 3 shut down corners which means taylor mays can get away with a few mistakes here and there. lastly he can hit like a truck and is an incredible athlete. we all know how much rex ryan likes to send different blitz packages. imagine what he can do with taylor mays.

    what does everybody else think?

I think Sharper is gonna be signed before camp, cus the Final 8 rules only apply until July and he's said he'd love to play here or something along those lines... if not we go after a safety later in the Draft... Mays is over-hyped...

    Like Willie Mays Hays...

It depends what the board looks like. If the players' we're targeting aren't there by the time we're on the clock then we will probably trade out to pick up some extra picks.

I have so much faith in our front office that I pre-approve of any trade to move up in the 2nd. I imagine any player Rex falls in love with will be a future pro-bowler.

I would love to move up to get Everson Griffen.

    As for Kindle...

I would LOVE him too but apparently Adam Schefter is reporting that he could miss ALL of next year after possibly needing microfracture knee surgery...this dropped him out of the 1st and he said he would be surprised if Kindle gets picked in the 2nd as most teams have dropped him completely off their boards.

I kinda hope we pick Ducasse since i played high school ball with him.. I was a freshman when he was a senior though. It will be nice to see someone from connecticut on the Jets though =P

There's no chance we go for Sergio Kindle with that knee injury concern. I want no part of Taylor Mays.

I have no problem with just about any of the other players being mentioned as targets for the Jets.. one of the o-linemen, Cody, Joseph, Misi, Ricky Sapp. I read that Tannenbaum said they have 6 players targeted for this round, so let's hope they get one of them.

The Jets could go after Ricky Sapp if he falls to us. We did have him work out for us so we are interested.

I hope we take an OL or DL. Depth for the trenches.
