We MUST trade for Burrow. this team drafting a QB will bare the same results as us going after top coordinators, year after year. we need a proven star.
Agree, but not just this game... almost every game his play is uneven. He's a little Zach like in that his highlights show an extremely high ceiling with throws nobody else can make. We saw how that worked out, hopefully he stays in school.
The funniest trade proposal I saw was Burrow to the Jets for a bunch of picks and Garrett Wilson. The Bengals would have Chase, Higgins, Wilson, and no QB.
I actually like what I see from Moore than I was expecting. He needs time and good coaches though. He can’t be rushed out there, which the jets will surely screw up.
None of the QB’s in this draft are day 1 starters, but lots of them have potential to be longtime starters in the NFL. I could easily see guys like Beck, Allar, Nussmeier, Mateer being backups for a few years and suddenly putting it together when they’re a bit older.
Hebert was a 4 year starter and Nix a 5 year starter. They both threw more and had better stats, less turnover prone.
I hope everyone realizes that Tech is the best defense in CF and that more is only 20 years old. We understand that right?
He played pretty well by my eyes. It didn’t help him that Oregon’s offensive coordinator decided they should go into a huge shell and stop being aggressive. He was throwing all over them on the first drive. They relentlessly ran the ball on first and second down and left him out to dry on 3rd down against the second best pass rush in the nation. Not to mention at least 3 bad snaps he had to deal. Again, not a big Moore guy, but those watching this game and knocking him down aren’t really understanding the context of this game. The interception was also shitty but it was 4th down and he threw the ball into a shitty window because you might as well throw it.
From what I understand he transferred from UCLA to Oregon to compete for the starting quarterback position. Why would he transfer there if that wasn’t the case? The Oregon coach Lanning said in training camp he has a quarterback competition as well. Gabriel who I felt wasn’t a NFL caliber quarterback beat him out easily. I’ll go on record and say Moore will be boom or bust player and more leaning bust. A fast release isn’t enough to be a good NFL player
Sounds like you just made the case for Moore to go back to school for more seasoning. He is kinda young to be in the NFL at QB.
When did he say that? Not saying you’re wrong I just don’t remember Lanning saying that. Moore was originally an Oregon commit. He de-committed when OC Kenny Dillingham left to take the Arizona State job and went to UCLA in a panic. I think he realized he made a big mistake. He wasn’t a highly sought after transfer portal QB because he wasn’t very good at UCLA albeit on a terrible team. I think he went to Oregon with the understanding he was going to be a backup. Gabriel was a much more sought after recruit. He transferred to Oregon with 4x 3,000 yard passing years and 125 passing TDs to only 26 INTs before he got there.
I’ve said it a bunch and I’ll say it again - I don’t see Mendoza as a player that fails in the NFL. Does he end up being a big time QB? Not sure, but his floor is Alex Smith in my opinion.
You’re probably right. However I would not advise trading up for him and mortgaging several high picks. If he were to fall to where the Jets are then fine draft him. As of where the situation currently looks like it’s headed maybe the Jets should acquire more team talent and draft their QB in ‘27. With those 4 picks in the top 45 in ‘26 they can get maybe 3 defensive studs which would go a long way to fixing that mess of a defense…..
