Yeah we all know dude lol. He’s just not that type of prospect. He has a pretty high floor as having a 10 year career as a backup if he fails as a starter. He’s a smart, heady player who doesn’t have physical gifts he can rely on. Richardson was a projection of what he could be without much of anything good on film. I didn’t agree with it and like @stinkyB just said, anyone who watched him play for Florida knew he was a 4th round project. Way different than Mendoza. Why are you so sure anyways? Didn’t you say you haven’t watched him?
Can't wait for this game. Between him and Simpson chances are relatively high a future Jets QB will play in that game.
Watching Dante Moore highlights, doesn’t it seem like his release is slow? He’s got a weird hitch in his throw
Mendoza is a great college Qb, but does not have an elite NFL arm or athleticism so ceiling might be a bit limited for the first player taken. He's being elevated due to leadership, accuracy and intangibles but make no mistake this a bad Qb class. Not sure you reach/over pay for him. Maybe Moore is your guy, but Idk... Sadly, there is no Josh Allen, Drake Maye type prospect in this draft. For me, if Mendoza doesn't fall to the Jets, then trade for Mac Jones, build a team around him and draft a Qb next year. Still does not preclude you from drafting a Qb in round 3+ this year (Nussmeir, Allar, Mateer, Sorsby (if he declares), etc.)
No Jet fan has ever seen a college QB prospect they liked. All it takes is one bad game, or even one ugly throw in one game, and 90% of the Jet fans want nothing to do with him. Every year, this fanbase declares the next QB class to be weak and insists that they Jets not waste a pick on a QB, pick up a cheap journeyman placeholder for the year, and wait until the NEXT draft, which has better QBs.
Josh Allen was picked outside of the top 10. Total mystery in college and unknown in a sense. Have to tip your cap to Buffalo, from Daboll, to Ken Dorsey, to Brady. They have developed him so well. Something we could never do.
