If Moore/Mendoza are there and we don't take one, I would be pretty pissed. But if Moore does not declare and Mendoza is gone, I just don't know what we can get for #2 if anything at all. There does not seem to be the next best guy, seems like several solid prospects in the same group. Like in the last draft there was Hunter and Carter after Ward, which allowed the Browns to trade down. Don't see that here, or do you think there is some blue chip talent there that people would want?
I just want to say Fuck Todd McShay for those comments on his little insignificant podcast today McShay is just butt hurt over the Jets cause they fired his college roommate Joe Douglas. Joe Douglas sucked as a GM. We are still dealing with his mess. Fucking McShay though was out there giving A+ draft grades every year when Douglas was here. Now he has the balls to go on his show and say players should avoid getting drafted by the Jets. Dante Moore should listen to Mcshay's shitty podcast, turn down millions of dollars because McShay's roommate got fired?!? yeah, ok, fuck face
The other piece of shit next to him said the same thing before. I think he overstated it, but some of it was corroborated by Connor Rodgers. Not about Dante, but in general Jets being perceived as a shitty organization. Serious question though, McShea does carry some weight, any chance Dante's agent or someone of that stature would take his input into consideration? But yeah, fuck this guy either way.
Maybe his agent gives Dante a dose of reality - The Jets have the 2nd pick in '26 and 3 - 1st round picks in '27. If the Jets want you bad enough, you're gonna be a Jet.
It’s just too much guaranteed money to pass up. He’s coming out. Chances are he’s not even Qb1 in 27 and arch is
He might be QB 4 or 5 next year to be honest or he could be high up in the class. The below are all going back to their original school. All of them have already have multiple years of starting experience. Returning to same school CJ Bailey, NC State LaNorris Sellers, South Carolina John Mateer, Oklahoma Jayden Maiava, USC Darian Mensah, Duke Julian Sayin, OSU The below will probably transfer to a big time school as they entered the portal. Still will have multiple years of starting experience as well. Josh Hoover, undecided Brendan Sorsby, undecided Sam Leavitt, undecided DJ Lagway, undecided I think CJ Bailey will end up as QB1 next year when all is said and done. But agreed on your point. Moore would be crazy to go fight that class.
There are rumors they will give him a package of $7-12M to stay at Oregon. If I am 20 and love my college, want to win a heisman, national title and have friends and the girls all love me... idk what I'd do.
Not really sure what to believe on this kind of stuff….it’s still the NFL, it’s still the dream, and it’s still a ton of money. But if it were my son, yeah, I’d probably not want him to go to the Jets given our history of sucking. However, the other side of that coin is that if you are a high top 2 or 3 draft pick, you’re going to a bad team. Just the way it is….you’re looking at the perennial losers like us, the Browns, the Raiders, etc. All bad options but yeah, sometimes it feels like we are the worst
We ARE the worst. Until this team breaks the lowest of all bars, making the playoffs, we will CONTINUE to be the worst. It's plain metrics at this point.
The thing that scares me about Moore and even Mendoza, neither was a predicted top 10 QB leading into the 2025 NCAA season. I went through the Draft section here to look back at QB rankings, Mendoza started generating noise early on and Moore did finally around 9/29. Prior to that there was no mention at all of either of them. This is kinda “Zach-ish” in that they came outta nowhere, but at the same time they are both leading top tier teams facing top competition where as Zach played cupcakes all year at BYU. I worry more about Moore coming on do fast given how young he is, we really need a top level offensive mind working with him yet unfortunately we’ll be giving him Aaron Glenn. Ugh.
Projections mean nothing. Results are all that matters. Mendoza has been the best player in the country from wire to wire so not sure why this even needs to be mentioned. Moore needs a lot of tutelage at this point. He's much more raw.
Love him or not, to me, it’d be hard to imagine we pass on Moore at #2 overall if he declares. Not saying he’s worth it or not as I haven’t watched him play (but I will watch the Oregon-Indiana game for sure), but with the way we need a QB, with Glenn needing to get some hope to the fanbase and some leash from the owner, I just would expect them to draft the QB. Personally, I wouldn’t hate it as we have a lot of picks and we can still draft a QB next year if he really shows he sucks. Not the best way to operate but we are fucking desperate for a QB so taking a chance on a guy like Moore isn’t the worst thing in the world. Of course, I also wouldn’t have an issue if we can somehow get a decent vet via trade and use that 2nd overall either to take a stud player or trade back for even more picks and draft the QB in 2027. Curious to see how it all falls out, and especially curious to see how Mougey operates here…he’s done pretty well so far, so curious to see what he thinks of this draft and how he maneuvers it.
I’m hoping the Raiders grab Moore. Then have the Jets take Mendoza at #2. If Mendoza isn’t there, trade down.
