I’d be curious to see him start one of those last couple of games just to get an idea of what the Jets have to work with or if he’s even in their long term plans …
That's a lot of money to be a healthy scratch. At least they aren't perpetuating the mistake anymore. I wonder what type of comments Woody Johnson made to Justin Fields that we'll hear about in a Diana Russini article next season?
Finally! I'm not expecting Cook to be some kind of savior but it sure as hell would be nice to know if he's even worth keeping on the Practice Squad in 2026 or does the whole damn QB room needed to be eviscerated. Edit: Or....gulp....is he the NY Jets version of Brock Purdy and we're ALL standing around going, "Who Knew??" Hey, a guy can dream can't he?
Well, as long as knows how to step out of bounds before some defender realigns his noggin, he's more Brock Purdy than Jaxson Dart! LOL!!!! However, point well taken. Hey, you NEVER know! That's why they play the game! (wondering how many more euphemisms I can fit in here)
Fully agree…there is ZERO point to playing Fields anymore…we all know what he is by now (honestly I didn’t have to watch him play at all this year to know, but I guess I can finally let that lie now that even our HC seems to see it), so while Cook may be nothing, it would be good to see him get some game action to know
Just smell what the Jets are Cookin'! OK, stone me to death, please. That's a request. Well, wait, hold on. It might smell pretty bad.
Like I posted earlier I would start him the last game or even the last two games. They should be big underdogs in both….give Cook a shot. What’s the worst thing they lose anyway? See if he shows anything….even if he shows enough to stick around for another training camp or even back up material….I would really hope the brass is at least considering this.
I was thinking about going to the game. I changed my mind. I won't be able to get into a fist fight in the parking lot with Miko Grimes so it's not worth my time.
