It's not that simple. Just like Mac Jones, they both learned from Mike shanahan in San Francisco who does great with young quarterbacks. Our culture in the organization is trash, no matter who the QB they won't succeed. Add in the pressure of NY and the curse that is the NY Jets.
Add to the fact he probably wants nothing to do with this organization so he would never ever come back here. and even if he did, he would suck.
In good part, at least here on TGG, hardly anyone could understand the concept of competition as a force in making a player better. Darnold was still on a cheap rookie contract and was very inconsistent but showed some signs of improvement. With an early pick the Jets could have still gotten in their "blue chip" draftee, also on a cheap rookie contract and coached them side by side to see if either, or both, was worth keeping. Instead Darnold was kicked to the curb and Wilson was crowned the one and only. The rest is history. Both of those guys, and every NFL QB to play the game before and after got to be a starter by being the best in face to face competition in kid football, high school and college; to think any of them would be too emotionally fragile to compete for an NFL job is ridiculous on its face - only the strong survive. Would you really want a guy running your offense who refused to face the competition to get there?
Has anyone noticed how America’s team the Dallas Cowboys are overpaid hot garbage ? On MNF Dak Prescott being out played by Jacoby Brissett Lmao
