I just scoured the Internet and got three talking heads opinions of the Jets draft from beginning to end and depending on who you ask each position could be either an a or a B minus but believe it or not our most solid pic (imo) Ranges from B minus to A!!
So it really is in the eye of the beholder for this draft

I look at it is it’s a great draft from October and December 2025 viewpoint if we have a winning record!!! And most of these guys having important roles

And if we don’t, then it’s a bust lol

So for me is no grade let’s see what happens

Not something to get too upset about. One thing to raise eye brows but all these guys are crapshoot. I don’t mind the LB pick a guy who tackles particular vs a run. Didn’t we suck in tackling last year?

Baron not bad player just hope he fits and plays a great role.

Yes, I can see him displacing McDonald at DE because he is 22 pounds heavier. The sooner the jets realize that McDonald is too light to start at DE the better. IMO he is a 3rd down rusher at best.
Agree that DT should he been addressed.

A B- from a talking head is like a regular person F-. The talking heads never criticize anyone. I joked about it in another thread, but the most "talking head"-thing ever was Jon Gruden talking about our WR and saying, "I love him even though he can't catch" (paraphrase).

The Jets have like 4 1st rounders on the d line. Maybe those guys start playing for once so we don’t have to rely on 5th round rookies

I tell you what is laughable, rating the draft before at least a year or two. Be it paid talking heads or layman fans

DT I should say. We have one competent player in that rotation right now. And when you expand to DL in general you’re looking at Q, JJ and Will McDonald. After that it’s practice squad players (or guys like Clemens who should be cut) and journeymen.

Could it be he's a decoy to clear out underneath for GW?

it’s April though. You are just looking for a big fat ass to take up space. There will be cuts and others to sign before week 1. The pass rushers are harder to find

If it was that easy our IDL wouldn’t have been atrocious last year. They have to be talented and fat.

Yea wouldn’t you finally like it to turn around? Not addressing areas of need, or addressing them poorly is how we got here in the first place.

You weren’t going to find talented and fat in the 5th round though, so idk why you are bitching so much

Actually, what is even funnier is liking the first two picks but then deciding to hate the second pick because of his Dad.

I’m not in the FO meetings and I didn’t interview players, however when you listen to Glenn in the interview, he explained why they chose the players they did.

Because there was a lot of talented fat in rounds 3 and 4 when we chose to draft CB depth and a WR that can’t catch

I think the opponent will have to respect the speed or risk big plays. Now they need 2 fast CBs to cover these WR.

typically the fast guys are slimmer and thus the fast guys will likely offer less run support.

I’ll caveat this by admitting I’m clueless about how he will or should be used but it doesn’t strike me as crazy especially for a 4th rounder.
