Rosenblatt: DL Eric Watts with a pressure on QB Andrew Peasley. Forced him out of the pocket, couldn’t get a pass off. #Jets
Sabo: Tyrod misfires to Irv Charles against the grain, after scampering a bit out of the pocket (nothing initially open). Then third-team feistiness happening out there, as the trenches are going after each other hard. Tough to call out any one name, but the aggressiveness is high for helmets/shorts (Izzy on most of those carries). #Jets After three teams go through teams, Rodgers and company return for 7v7 (happening now).
Faria: Couple nice reps from Izzy Abanikanda. This training camp is huge for him. #Jets First 7v7 rep is a completion to Jeremy Ruckert over the middle of the field. #Jets
Sabo: 7v7, Garrett and Xavier lined up on the same side, Rodgers hits GW on a quick concept/primary read based on pre-snap D look. 3-5 yards before contact, potential for RAC. AR finds GW again on next play, another isolated situation, but this time, against more space as opposed to a clear 1v1 (like first play). AR then settles for Braelon underneath on the next play—quickly deciding on it as a secondary option. #Jets
Rosenblatt: Aaron Rodgers went 4/4 to start in 7-on-7. Completions to Jeremy Ruckert, Garrett Wilson twice and Braelon Allen.
Rosenblatt: Jarrick Bernard-Converse with a nice play to break up a Tyrod Taylor pass intended for Irv Charles in 7 on 7. #Jets
Faria: A lot of short throws from Aaron Rodgers to start camp. All have been completed. #Jets Jarrick Bernard-Converse with a great pass breakup on the second-team in drills. Poor route but JBC jumped the route really well. #Jets Rough couple of reps from Irv Charles in 7v7. Bad drop after running a bad route on the JBC deflection. #Jets
Andy Vasquez: Rodgers is 6-of-6 to start practice - including 4-of-4 in 7 v 7. A couple of catches for Garrett Wilson and Braelon Allen. Also, Allen Lazard had a nice catch on the first throw of full team drills. #Jets
Sabo: Second team 7v7, JBC with a nice break to snag the PD with inside leverage near sideline. Tyrod sought Irv in what was the right read. However, the timing was off, as Tyrod was a bit late, allowing JBC time to break down/inside. Next play is an Irv drop. The special teamer wants that one back—short, middle of field, in his numbers, hands out in front drop. He thought about it instead of going instinct. #Jets
Rosenblatt: Qwan’Tez Stiggers just picked off QB Andrew Peasley in 7 on 7. Nice play by the rookie. #Jets
Sabo: Third team 7v7, that Quan’Tez Stiggers guy with the theft. Solid positioning against a vertical (didn’t see who the receiver was), but Peasley under threw it. It’s gotta be on the outside shoulder with more air. He’ll want that one back. Read was fine (I think, without having benefit of replay). One of those situations where the coverage was disciplined, while the ball-hawking took advantage of a poor throw. #Jets
Faria: Red zone time Bad drop by Xavier Gipson in red zone. Could’ve been picked off by Gardner. #Jets Tony Adams almost came away with a pick on third down in red zone. Rodgers tried to fit a pass in between two guys but couldn’t. #Jets First team offense fails to pick up a first down in red zone. Not the most accurate session from Rodgers but did have a drop. #Jets Jalyn Holmes and Leki Fotu completely blew up a play for the second team offense in red zone. Fotu has had a strong day. #Jets
Faria: Taylor to Irv Charles for a TD. Nice job by the WR to hang on as he would’ve gotten a big hit with pads on. #Jets Will McDonald has worked exclusively with the second team today. #Jets
Rosenblatt: Aaron Rodgers in red zone 11-on-11: - Complete on screen to Garrett Wilson - Incomplete for Xavier Gipson, thrown behind in traffic and nearly picked off by Sauce. - Incomplete for Gipson back of end zone - Incomplete for Garrett Wilson at sideline. Turnover on downs. #Jets
Rosenblatt: Second-team offense fared better in the red zone: Tyrod Taylor with a nice completion to Irv Charles for a TD on second down. Fun battle between Will McDonald and Olu Fashanu too. Will McDonald just batted down an Aaron Rodgers pass at the line of scrimmage. #Jets
Faria: The Aaron Rodgers - Garrett Wilson connection has been a work in progress today. #Jets Will McDonald sighting! He deflects a Rodgers pass on second down in red zone, #Jets Allen Lazard is having an EXCELLENT day. Leaping grab for a TD to end the day in practice. #Jets
Sabo: After a brief special team session, it’s red zone teams time (11 pers v nickel). First play is a designed quick concept to GW that most likely gains 2-3 yards. Excellent job by Michael Carter II to both read it and squeeze the flow to the sideline (taking his blocker to the right space, inside shoulder free), which allowed Sauce to come down in the right spot (outside-in). Next play is an incompletion to Xavier (shallow, secondary). Tough catch (thrown a little behind, little high), but I’d call that a drop. Bounced up, dangerous, but falls to the ground. Then Aaron changes something pre-snap on the third play. Looks vertical, near back of end zone, but MC2’s coverage is insane. Plus, Adams read it correctly from a lower spot. Yet, AR still had the right touch to get it over his outstretched arms. Incomplete. Fourth and final play of session is an incompletion to GW in a 1v1 spot against Reed. AR was going there the entire time (reading pre-snap), and it was the right route against the coverage, but coverage was great. Perhaps AR was a bit late, a bit behind? Tough to know from this angle. Reed could have been dinged for DPI as well, maybe. Not sure. D coverage dominated that series. #Jets
Sabo: After some Tyrod action, Rodgers is back in for RZ (10-yard line) teams. First play is blown up, another quick passing concept. Play-side edge in excellent spot, making it uncomfortable (tips it, JJ I think? but not positive), while MC2 is again reading things insanely fast. Practice ends on the next play, a Lazard TD. Again, the D initially won the play, but AR improvised, flushes left a few steps to find AL who found space against the goal line coverage. High ball, nice grab. #Jets
