Cook needs to be inactive next game. Give some of those snaps to Izzy. Also, this iteration of the Oline is a heckuva lot better than the Duane Brown version.
Even if you get the first there, you’re on the 30 with 20ish seconds left and 2 TOs. A TD is not impossible in that situation but you’re most likely settling for a FG anyway. EDIT: We would’ve had to burn our 2nd TO after running for the first so we would’ve had the ball at the 30 with 20ish seconds and 1 TO. Odds are not high for a TD there.
Zach was making plays and moving the ball. You have Breece Hall. You're playing the Super Bowl champions Chiefs... with a chance to tie before the half. You go for it.
Kicking before half wasn't an awful call, but I'd have gone for it. 52 yard kicks are no sure thing, as we saw. If they convert 4th and 2, maybe they end up settling for a FG anyway, but at that point, it's likely a more manageable kick, and more time comes off the clock that the Chiefs can't use. And of course, a TD is still on the table.
I am not playing the result, but to me it was THE chance to go for it - but not on a 'safe' play call of roll out or short pass to a TE to p/u the first down, it was the time to roll the dice and think big with a long pass to GW. I love their chances with him, at the very least that type of play call could draw a PI inside the 10...
We are In a hole. Next week Is an absolute must win against a dick hole HC. Gotta make him eat his words. We found a resemblance of an identity for this team, hopefully they will build on that next week. Saleh wasn't wrong In his presser when he said that If Zach Wilson can consistently play like he did against the Chiefs, they will win a lot of ball games. I honestly believe that to be true. Hands down.
Denver has momentum after coming back down 14 and they are a tough place to play at home, even though they are the worst defense in the league they are a competent team and it will be hard to beat them. Russell Wilson looks like Russell Wilson again, we aint playing a nobody qb like last year when we played them. Denver is favored by 3 for a reason.
I saw this on Twitter (but for some reason, the forum won't let me post twitter links) ... "Zach Wilson of the @nyjets is the only opposing QB to have more completions, more passing yards, more TD passes and fewer interceptions than Patrick Mahomes in a Mahomes start, college or pro (out of 127 total starts, including postseason)."
That's the thing, can Zach Wilson play like that more often? If so, the Jets will indeed win a lot of games.
If we want to keep our playoff hopes alive we really need to win one of the next two games. Losing to Denver but beating the Eagles somehow would be a very Jet thing to do but taking care of business next week would give this team a needed boost of confidence going into the bye week with a couple wins.
