Another pathetic scrub signed onto the roster. We had the shittiest line in the League with this guy playing terrible. I guess a decent practice squad move, but if he ends up playing, we are fucked.

I would sure hope that the backup plan is not trading for a QB who can’t stay healthy and wasn’t all that good the few times he was healthy.

I think you should wait until after the draft to reassess the OL.

I agree. I do think in the end Rodgers will be here, but JD has to have a plan B in place in case things don't work out. I am not saying I would trade for Lance either, but Wilson can't be the starter going into this year as well.

To me there’s close to no difference between Lance and Wilson as week 1 starters. We’re fucked if either of them take any snaps this year. I’d trade a day 3 pick for Lance and hope we can develop him for a year or two but he’ll also be a FA next year so that plan isn’t great either.

Agree 100%. In addition to the draft, apparently some folks are already assuming that our returning top starters, sidelined by injury last year , three quarter of the line to be candid, will not be here again this year.

Yep. I just posted this in the other thread but if #13 is Broderick Jones and #43 is Luke Wypler then the line look verrrrry different.

    LT - Brown/Becton/Jones
    RG - Tomlinson
    C - Wypler
    LG - AVT
    RT - Jones/Mitchell

    It certainly could…

Becton is a BIG IF though…he showed such promise his rookie year, then the injuries the last 2 years, but in a contract year he should be motivated…he slimmed down a lot and if he does well that would be such a huge bonus.

I’m not sure when the fifth year option needs to be decided…I’d have serious concerns exercising it based on his injury history, and there’s always a risk when a player does well in his contract year that he’ll keep it up…Becton never seemed to be the type of guy who was all in staying in shape…he kind of let it go a lot, maybe due to the knee injuries I don’t know, but regardless, if he can actually stay on the field this year that would be huge

So Randall Cobb will be a Jet at 4:07

But seriously... Al Woods and Kwon Alexander would be nice signings today.

Edit: Apparently Woods wouldn't count anyway since he was cut and Kwon is our own FA... so Cobb it is.

Lots of interesting names on that list. I’m sure Cobb will be a Jet but Jarvis Landry would be a sneaky nice WR5 signing. A few other interesting names on that list but no one comes without red flags at this stage of the game.

Woods and Kwon would be at top of my list.
I’d bring on another big DL in addition to Woods as well.
Solomon Thomas not a good option, and JFM more a situational guy.
    Need run stuffers.

    Also need a S
Anyone know if Logan Ryan has anything left?

This is what we have now:
    LT - Brown/Warren
    RG - Tomlinson/Colon
    C - Tippman/CMG
    LG - AVT/Schweitzer
    RT - Becton/Mitchell

I think interior is solid. CMG and Schweitzer are reliable and durable and can come in in case of injury for any interior position. Starters are also very good.

OT though is worrisome. I think JD might sign one more guy. Also, is Brown a lock to stay? He is owed 10 mil, but not guaranteed. That's a lot for where he is at in his career. He might need to take a major pay cut if he is to stay.

I agree. Kwon should be top priority right now.

I think they need S depth, but remember they didn't cut Whitehead and I have this feeling that they love Tony Adams. He may be a player to watch entering his second year.

What do you know about Trey Dean III and Marquis Waters? Do you think either of them or the Converse kid could switch to FS and be the answer? Also, if Waters switches to LB, do you think there's any chance the Jets might move Nasirildeen back to SS?

I think Dean has potential to be a bottom of the roster type player.

Waters is more of a box or "star" safety IMO. Could potentially fill that role in 2024 as a backup.

I think Nasirilideen is cut this year. He's shown very little in the 2 years here.

I'm most intrigued by Bernard-Converse. He's a guy I could see getting significant playing time at multiple positions this year or next, including FS.
