Another of my favorite Jets. He was another player that I wanted the Jets to draft and they did. I definitely think that he could have taken us to at least one SB victory if not a couple, if he hadn't suffered all those torn rotator cuffs. Stupid Jets GM(s) ignoring the OL and getting Chad and the other QBs beaten to a pulp.
I truly believe had Chad been the QB in 2009/2010 (healthy) the Jets would have gotten over the AFCCG hump at least one of those years…
Sadly, I don't. By then his shoulder was shot. I really don't know how he did as well as he did in Miami in 2008. By 2006 or 2007 the rest of the league knew that there were certain passes (deep sideline outs, post patterns, etc.) that he couldn't throw. They would stack the box and dare him to beat them deep. He only was able to play 3 games in 2009 and one in 2010. Woody let Bradway stay too long. Tanny didn't become GM until 2006, and by then Chad's shoulders were in shreds. Maybe if Woody had fired Bradway after a season or two, and Tanny had taken over by 2003 or 2004, we might have gotten a shot at the playoffs with Chad, but he wasn't even really a scouting and personnel guy. I think Mangini was as much the driving force behind the good drafts that we had as Tannenbaum was. Then when Rex took over, Tannys drafts soon turned to crap. His best two drafts were 2006 and 2007. 2008 was pretty crappy. 2011 was pretty good, but 2009, 2010 and 2012 were pure shit.
