And it is so Jet-like that Minshew and White will play well for the next 2 weeks and we will be forced to over pay...

I’d be fine with Jimmy G if we kept White and drafted a rookie.

    Jimmy G
    Mike White
Rookie Day 2 pick — Max Duggan

I'd kind of like to see one of two things:

    1. White as the starting QB with a mid-round draft and Streveler in the QB room.

    2. Jameis Winston with a mid-round draft and Streveler in the QB room.

I'd go 1 unless White is unsignable and leaves.

Given how difficult it is to get a legitimate QB, I'd be happy with Mike White as the starter going into the offseason.

The only issue is that they would need a legitimate backup. As much fun as White is, the dude is going to spend time on the injured list. I'd think someone like Minshew would be perfect.

Draft a QB in the 3rd/4th round and roll with those three.

I don't think White is fragile. He just doesn't avoid the big hits.

I posted it in the Rodgers thread but we should take a mid-round player ala Sam Hartman or Jake Haener and throw them into the mix with White and Wilson. The Jets have a decent NFL roster but the linebackers are bad, the safeties are short-term fixed and the offensive line is pretty much a disaster, even when everyone’s healthy.

We have too many holes to pursue a Carr or Rodgers and it creates a one or two year window vacuum where we end up loading up on veterans and sacrificing the future.

They can’t bring Wilson back next year because it’ll create a circus before the year even starts.

Yea it’s a weird mix of bad luck and shitty OL. Dude is tough as nails, not fragile, but he’s gotten wrecked twice in 10 starts.

Mike White aint coming back to this clown show, he is getting a payday elsewhere. The Jets totally mismanaged the Qb situation this year. Next bust up!!!

What's the situation with Mayfield? I could see him being effective in the LaFleur offense. Obviously not likely a long term thing but that might be where the Jets are - trying to catch a golden year from a vet or a guy who never quite lived up to the hype while waiting for a guy to fall to them in the draft.

Funny, what struck me about the OP was the notion we'll have a late teens early 20s pick.

Nah, were doing what we do best, landing for another top 10 pick.

Also, completely not interested in becoming Denver or Indy by dealing for an ancient over priced QB like Rodgers or Brady, and hamstringing our future.

Probably Mike White but I would look into Jameis Winston as well if NO lets him go. If we're drafting a QB, then take Hendon Hooker in the 3rd round if he's there. 1st two rounds should be OL and LB

A guy like Hendon Hooker would be intriguing. He suffered an ACL injury I think so he would definitely be a project in waiting. Plus he's like 24 already so I assume he's an adult and not a spoiled child like someone we know. Winston is still prone to turning the ball over without an offense guru like Sean Payton. I don't think Saleh or MLF would make him any better. Mike White is really best option, and that still makes me nervous. Outside of that only a proven veteran like Rodgers or Brady could overcome MLF's shortcomings.
