It’s absolutely true. And what does it say when they have this lineup, including a 62 home run hitter, and they have to continually shuffle it in desperation to try and get production in the playoffs. I have to admit that I don’t know how this works at the pro level… but does a hitter go to the plate and react naturally , with just some knowledge of what the pitcher likes to throw, or is there some kind of plan including over analyzing ? I still can’t understand all the strikes they watched go by, and this yearly lack of production in the post season . I have to wonder if there is some kind of coaching problem.
It's deeper than just Boone. Some stat nerd is going to have to do this for me because I suck at math, but Cashman has to have the worst possible ROI in terms of resources versus results in the history of sports. The amount of shitty contracts he's given out and the lack of championships he's been able to accumulate despite the deepest pockets is really damning. But, yeah. Boone is turrible.
