What's with Voit leading off too? I'll never get past the dumb lineup configurations the Yankees put together. That dumb lineup got mowed down in the first last night too by Matz.

    Obliques and quads man.

Clint Frazier is really better at this point than the next best guy in triple A?

Roster construction was never Cash’s strong suit.

At this point Andujar needs to be in the lineup every day in some fashion. I get his glove sucks and he doesn't have a position, but the Yankees are rotating 5-6 guys below the mendoza line and using the hope and pray method that they'll battle out of it.

Andujar looked like he was going to be a professional hitter for a decade+ before he got hurt a couple years ago. Let the guy fix him himself rather than keep fucking trotting Mike Ford and Odor out there. I get that Odor had a nice night last night too FWIW.

After being out for two weeks, Stanton getting a well deserved day off after a hard day of standing at the plate watching meatballs go by.

This team is just so fucking hard to understand.

Might be time to start trading guys for prospects. This team just does not score.

Giancarlo I guess is never going to play in the field ever again. Last time he did regularly he was the NL MVP. I suppose we don't want him getting hurt or anything.

Maybe he'd be healthier with that mega swing of his if he trotted around a little bit in the outfield. I'm not even being sarcastic either.

That quad is probably tight as fuck everytime he comes up to bat after sitting on the bench for two innings.

This team isn't going anywhere. The playoffs is all about timely hitting, not home runs. They can't get a hit with RISP whatsoever.

There's a lot of season left.....for it to go either way. They may finally get it together and surge to the best record in baseball. Or they could miss the playoffs. The team has the talent. I'm not giving up yet.

The sad thing is that probably the best move Cashman has made over the past ten years is with LeMahieu - a player he didn't even want as he was all googly eyes over Machado and Harper. And he's now the only guy in the lineup who can rip a single through the hole with a runner on second.
Yeah they'll still beat up on the Orioles, Twins, Rangers, Angels and friends enough to be in the hunt. But they aren't winning a playoff series.

Also - Cole's struggles today don't worry me. Even the best pitchers get lit up a couple times a year like that with bad fastball placement. There best chance is to get a super human performance out of him in the post season.

Team is painful to watch offensively.

    And defensively
    And on the basepaths

Yep. Look at the heart of the Sox order and their batting averages.

    Verdugo - .287
    Martinez - .322
    Bogaerts - .317
    Several - .287

Gee no wonder they score easily. Hopefully Cashboy is taking notes tonight.
