Side note, Kaufman stadium is a great place to catch a game. Beautiful stadium. Saw the Yankees play there a few years back
You're really scoreboard watching the Rays and Red Sox this early in August? There is like 50+ games left man don't stress yourself out like this (too early for all that) it's only August 10th man.
I still think it'll take until next year after some starts to really be Sale again. But, his biggest issue the last few before TJ was he ran out gas by the end of the season.
Cole's last start was 2 weeks ago. German's last start was 12 days ago. Montgomery's last start was 11 days ago. Since then the Yankees has started: Heaney Gil Taillon Cortes Perlalta Heaney Gil Taillon Cortes Luetge (today) Heaney (tomorrow) They have gone 6-3 in the games they've played, which is a minor miracle since this team still isn't hitting. Cole and Montgomery still need to throw bullpen sessions before they will start again. If we are lucky we will see them in the next week. Rizzo is still feeling like shit and I don't expect him back anytime soon. Sanchez is feeling a bit better, as per Boone. I am really pissed at these guys that contracted Covid. I know Rizzo wasn't vaccinated and I'd bet money the other 3 weren't either. This could have really submarined any hopes we had of making a run. We are a team decimated with injuries right now. We need to get healthy.
Luckily for the Yankees this is happening in a weaker part of the schedule... but regardless they are playing better. They cleaned up the baserunning a lot.
They are also down their closer as well as Urshela, Torres and Sanchez. They are fielding half a minor league team and they continue to win 2/3. The team hasn't quit, that's for sure. I thought for sure they would lose today. Huge win. Next up the ChiSox who have the 6th best record in baseball. I'd feel better if we had a healthy roster.
I'm not super impressed by the White Sox. Solid rotation that's banged up but team for team probably the weakest division in the majors. Nice bullpen too I guess. When I say I'm not impressed I mean that in the sense that I don't think they have a shot at winning a playoff series against the alternatives in the AL including the wild card teams.
Or homers. When he struggles it'll be real frustrating. Sad that this game is part sport part special event, and the Yankees have to role out Andrew Haney. He's terrible.
And why is that? (Heaney?) Because Cole is a fucking idiot who also infected another one if our top starters. Fuck Cole.
