Ok so Rodon got rocked one inning and we’re probably not winning this game. So leave him the fuck in and let him soak innings up. Don’t waste the bullpen in a game you’re most definitely going to lose.

I normally agree with you but I really disagree here. I could listen to Smoltz explain pitching to me all year long and never complain. He’s a great baseball communicator.

They are still in this if they don't give up runs here.

But this is why I dislike the Cortez move even more. Rodon makes it through the 4th maybe a third of the time his entire Yankee career. Have Cortez to eat those innings that will obviously be there.

Why is Stroman even on the roster if not for the games your starter can’t get through four? Boone gonna burn all his high leverage guys tonight too?

Yesterday was the game to steal, but don't want to ignore the fact I felt like today was an auto loss. Rodon needs to be put at the 4th or 5th starter and the Yankees need to eat crow on him. Just a reactionary signing to what I'm not totally sure.

If anyone needed a guy to run a clinic on how to not manage a postseason pitching staff Boone is the go to guy.

Still think they can win, but game one still stings

This series so far has exposed all the Yankees issues.

    shitty defense? Check.
Questionable if not moronic manager? Check.
    Rodon meltdown? Check.
    Runners left on base? Check.
weak bottom third of the order? Check.

Over a long season against mostly mediocre competition they can slug their way to overcome these weaknesses. Not against the Dodgers on a short series.

And especially not if Judge doesn’t hit the switch already.

Runners left on base had been an issue for as far back as I can remember. This is what happens when the only thing expected is home runs.

NBD, but we can't walk the guy who can't let his arm hang.

Just said that too. Make Ohtani swing the bat and live with it if he beats you to start the game.

Obviously Judge is struggling big time, but it's still the same story that 3 out of the top 4 are hitting and then it's zeros

If they can't score 2 runs then they will be labeled as fraud contenders in my book

Every Yankees swing is like school yard swing for the fences. What happened to make contact when you’re not hitting well .

Not saying he should’ve caught that but Soto almost immediately acknowledges he’s not going to catch that blooper. A bigger run at it might slow the runner down a bit more.

Somewhat nitpicky but him not catching that ball off the wall the other night or at least getting closer to it still miffs me.
