This was a huge HUGE test for the Jets and they proved they can hang with the best of them. I knew the Bills would be cocky enough to put strength on strength to see if their WR’s and Allen would be able to beat this secondary. Advantage Jets.

I now will put this defense up against ANY offense and feel confident they have what it takes to shut them down. WR’s simply don’t have any room to get open against man. Zone, the Jets have tightened and cleaned up that area immensely where it seems a Jet or 2/3 are in the area ready to strike.

Moreso, the rotation of DLine makes this defense scary. While this team doesn’t have an ELITE EDGE guy yet, Everyone contributes to make it overall one of the best fronts in the league, especially led by Q, who has to be considered elite on the interior. The fact that you can sub JJ, Clemons, Huff, JLM, Curry off the edge and not see a ton of drop off speaks volumes.

Not to mention this defense can tackle and as a unit can contain the run as well. I’ve been impressed with the defense as a whole.

I think Saleh proved his philosophy of resting his DL is working. I know I had my doubts about rotating 10 dressed Dlinemen seemed excessive, but they were raging after Allen the entire game.

Maybe now that the Jets are a "hot new thing", Vegas won't have a mandate for the refs to fuck is in 2 weeks.

I gave both teams an extra touchdown, but what a great win by the Jets! So proud.

I thought the D played great. But the unsung heroes of yesterday was the o-line. The last drive of the game, starting at the 4 yard line, we ran down their throats for a 13 play drive, 75 yards on the ground. And that was without our best run blocker AVT. True ground and pound.

Re-watching all of Zach's throws yesterday. This is what I saw:

    1. 0:20 Pass to Mims along right sideline. Two things - Easily could've been P.I....Pats and other "good" teams would've gotten that call. Mims "should've" caught it. Yes it was a tough catch but it was thrown where it need to be and he got one hand on it - if he got the other one on it he probably catches it.

    2. 1:25 Pass complete short to GW, but Zach gets flattened by rusher who never pulled up and hit him after the ball was released and no RTQ. This was much more an obvious call that the refs called on JFM last week. These non-calls against the other team while they're quick to throw flags against the Jets are bullshit.

    3. 1:40 Pass complete out to the left to GW for short gain, GW goes down on his knees by contact and then is pushed into the turf - no PF.

    4. 2:15 Throw on 3rd and 8 to Mims high. Not a great throw, but still catchable. A better receiver makes this catch more often than not.

    5. 2;42 Swing pass to the right falls short. Just a bad pass. Didn't put enough on it but I couldn't see any reason why he didn't.

    6. 5:44 Strip sack by Vonn Miller. Now rewatching it I see that Zach had more time than I thought, and he could've escaped by moving up to his right in the pocket where Miller had vacated. This was on Zach.

    7. 6:11 GW on end around to the right loses the football looks like he loses his helmet due to helmet to helmet hit, but then another tackler goes in head first at his head when he was on the ground. Neither drew a flag.

    8. 6:24 Throw to left flag to GW should've been PI - no flag.

    9. 6:55 Throw to Mims? on a route over the middle looked like another PI not called - defender had his arms around the receiver's waist and impeded his ability to extend for the ball.

    10. Throw out to left sideline, incomplete, was ahead of the receiver by a good margin. IDK if this was a bad pass, or the receiver ran a slower route than Zach was expecting.

    11. 7: 20 Throw to Mims for huge 3rd down completion. Great throw and catch, but one of the defenders came in head first at Mims who fortunately was able to get down out of the way or this would've been a vicious helmet to helmet contact. IDK if this is a penalty since the attempted hit missed, but it should be.

    12. 7:35 Wilson keeps it and runs to his left for the left flag gets tackled and a second tackler comes in head first - no PF called. Should've made it 1st and goal and a vg chance to get the TD, instead they settle for a FG and give the Bills a real chance to come back and tie or win the game.

These were the plays where obvious penalties should've been called and weren't, plus a couple of the "bad" plays from Zach, adding up to an even better game by him when these are taken into account.

Sounds good. Ditto is there's a loss. It lets the potential building jumpers threaten to jump and let's the New Yorker in the rest of us yell, "Jump!" without a bunch of reactionary threads as opposed to reactionary comments.

I think it's better to let people enjoy their five minutes of joy or their five minutes of rage. I bet there'd be less post-game board pollution. "We're Going to the Super Bowl Write it Down" or "I'm Leaving, No Longer a Fan of This Garbage." So, yeah, 5 minutes sounds cool win or lose even though it hasn't been out of hand lately I have to say. Thanks for considering it.

There’s a rumor that Allen messed his elbow up badly on that Huff strip, he maybe out for a month or the rest of the season. Just a rumor. Trying to find out more

Allen is a great player and seems like a good guy. I hope that's not the case that he's out for extended period of time.

Might be a good idea for him to rest that elbow for like 5 weeks or so...

Nice work on the research/review. From my watching of the game (to me) and without the benefit of any replay whatsoever passes 4, 5 and 10 on your list were the ever-present "Zach passes" that were just missed layups. And they happen every game. And it really is not good.

Everything else to me goes in the "no big deal" category and Zach is exonerated fully in my court. And then overall I think he did about as well as anybody possibly could have expected given Buffalo as the opponent and given his performance trend of the last few weeks. I was afraid we were trending towards imminent disaster and I probably would have sat him out of this game personally so all the credit in the world goes to Zach and the Jets for what they all managed to accomplish this weekend. Incredible.

Yeah, supposedly he hurt the same part of his elbow in 2018 but played thru it. I wouldn’t be surprised if he played through this again. I mean he launched a 70 yard bomb sidearm just after this lol. Unless his UCL is shot like he needs Tommy John, he’s gonna play.

refs let them play. there were only 6 flags total. and 1 was the hardee after the play one so really 5 flags on plays in the games. it made the game more enjoyable. Both teams probably got away with stuff.

that throw was ridiculous. really showed why he has an elite arm. i'm not even sure zach could make that or even mahomes. plus his elblow was bothering him for that throw because of the huff strip sack 2 plays before

It's amazing how some winning seems to just strip the years off a GM!
