I think Russell Wilson would’ve played today if they were playing an inferior opponent. He saw our pass rush and said hell na I’m not playing lol
live never heard that the nfl asks teams anything about schedule…is this documented and true or is it just rumors?
It was mentioned on here and then during the game commentary, I have no documentation of it. I think somebody else has commented on where it came from in this thread if you have a look.
just looked on google https://zonecoverage.com/2022/packers/the-packers-were-wise-not-to-take-the-bye-after-london/ the best bit 'Compared to other teams left on the schedule, the NFL granted the Packers a big favor by giving them the Jets after the London trip.' Well that was a shit favour then lol
I’ve been cautiously optimistic since we started winning and honestly I’ve been waiting for the wheels to fall off in SOJ fashion. A win today will go a long way with me I’m removing some of that SOJ stench. Yes — I’m aware we got a backup QB today and Denver has been brutal, but this is the first time we are expected to win. Go out and dominate in the trenches again. Lets go.
My sentiments exactly. Really bad feeling about this game. SOJ feeling big time. Road favorites against a reeling team with a back up QB? I hope Saleh has these boys ready to play from kickoff. I think the offense is gong to struggle big time. It'll be a handful of big plays that will determine the outcome of this game.
First to 10 wins. And I don’t think that will be us. Rypien or whatever is apparently a quick decision maker with accuracy and the Denver beat guys think there will be a lot of dink and dunking. Kind of our worse nightmare. I don’t think the Broncos will be a far better team without Russ but I think this weekend it favors them for sure.
I’m expecting a loss here… Tangible reasons: - Denver’s defense is top ten…will make life tough for ZW - Denver is a tough place to play with the altitude Intangible reasons: - While we are slowly killing the SOJ vibes, it’s going to take more than 2 or 3 wins to slay that dragon - we lose to them more often than not…one of those teams that has our number like Baltimore and NE - I’m worried that the team may be reading their press clippings - we always seem to do better when we have no expectations, and very much worse when we do - rypien is an advantage for them…will give them a spark and we have a bad habit of making rookie and backup QBs look good - feels too much like a classic SOJ shit the bed let down game…going into to play a reeling team that had high expectations at their house - no idea how the Moore situation will affect the team so for me, it’s more of an intangible vibe…physically we should match up ok…we absolutely CAN win this game…I’m more concerned about the psyche and intangibles than anything else…waiting for the other shoe to drop I’ll say this…we already beat Pitt and GB at their homes and both of those are tough places to win and we did it against two desperate teams, so we have a good shot here to keep the ball rolling I am expecting a loss and hoping for a win, and if we win for a fourth game in a row and three on the road in tough places to play, I will be SUPER impressed with this team
So I was going to head out for the game, son gets company seats. Well this was the plan before the season started, then his director tells him he needs to take a client to the game. I figure no big deal since this was when the Jets were 1-2. I'll just schedule another visit, no sense in paying for a flight to go see them lose. Fast forward a few weeks, client cancels, son is now taking fiancee, gets upgraded by other director to 15th row 50 yd line tickets. Big change from last year when we sat in the nosebleed seats. I'm still picking Denver, Jets are 4-1 when I pick the opposition.
I predict a low-scoring, ugly game with Denver's strong defense. They're desperate for a win and think Rypien might be able to provide a spark. It's not necessarily SOJ if they lose though. Denver is a tough place to play and they're a talented team. 19-16 Broncos But I do very much think they can win and will be very impressed if they do
I think Jets win an ugly matchup 13-10. I don't think Zach will be able to pass the ball effectively at all in this matchup, and we are gonna have to rely on the running game completely. Rypien I don't believe will be much of a factor either, and the Jets have shown this season they can win on the road. I'd be very surprised if either team scores more then 14 points in this game.
Denver might be the best team we played all year. Their defense is really good. This will be a hard game to win. To win we will need to get ahead early and keep beating on them all day. Playing from behind against their defense could make a very ugly long day. I expect Denver to win by a lot. But, a win here would be so huge . Playing a very good desperate team in Denver. That is a huge task. I don't care how we do it let's just come home with a win.
Shit for me as well, early kick off is 6pm in the UK, so jsut nice to watch then prepare for bed and work but the game finishing at midnight means a 4 hour sleep if I watch it to the end. Saying that, it isn't very often we are on late, from memory it was just twice last year and this is the first one this time.
a legit POV. another winnable game. again, its about how THEY PLAY. and that is unknown every week with this team. SEEMS we are getting more consistent.
they have the worst scoring offense in the league. YES, their D is excellent. but them piling on points doesnt seem highly likley at all. falling behind by a TD or a FG is no big deal.
Enjoyable pregame omen just now. I live in NorCal and am at an all day softball tournament for one of my daughters. The rest of my kids are running around the park with friends, my oldest in a Jets hoodie. A little while ago he comes back to me and tells me "some guy told me he liked my sweatshirt, he was a Jets fan." It was weird because there aren't many of us around these parts, but really cool to hear that we ARE out here. After our first game the whole family is eating lunch at the snack bar, a guy comes up to me and motions to MY Jets hoodie saying hi, and my son says that's the same guy. It wasn't until we were a few minutes into the conversation, and questions from my wife and I about his fandom, that he casually mentions that he used to play for them. It was Garrett McIntyre. He's got daughters in the same huge tournament. Super relaxed and humble guy, just another dad roaming the grounds, rooting for his kids. Oh, and very excited about the direction of the franchise. EDIT: Swype made him Greg instead of Garrett.
I am also in Norcal... in SOnoma county , just southv of Sana Rosa (Cotati,CA) Usually wearing Jets shorts on the w/e
