Eye on the following week vs. the Patriots?? Who? Name a single player or coach that is looking past Denver to New England. No disrespect, 80, but seriously. There is NO ONE on this Jets team looking past Denver at New England. No one on the current roster GAF about New England.
Yea it’s rough. That said, winning in Lambeau and Mile High back to back would be a nice accomplishment. Schedule makers are dicks, though. It’s like they’re were trying to figure out how to feed other teams W’s.
We matchup very well vs them. I’ll take my chances 1 on 1 with sauce and reed vs Sutton and Jeudy. Wilson refuses to throw over the middle of the field. It’s actually insane. I think denver lost its LT for the season the last week as well? Stop the run, limit the mistakes on offense, and get after RW.
I'm pretty sure the old animosity between THESE Jets and the Patriots is long gone as there's really no history anymore. This is a completely new set of players and honestly, this version of the Patriots aren't the same as Brady's bunch. I think this will be just another game for Gang Green. I hope they prep for that just like they would any other opponent.
The Jets are due for a slight letdown and Denver isn’t the best place for a young visiting team. And don’t kidd yourself about New England. Everybody on that team all the way up to the owners are gunning for them. Sure most of the players don’t have a lot of experience against NE but I imagine it’s pretty personal a 55-14 beat down last time they played plus no wins against them in 7 years. Man to man there is a collective eye on the Patriots …… of course they’re going to play Denver first and they’ll play hard. I just see it as a trap game both mentally and physically.
Oh they’ll prep the same way I’m not saying they’re gonna just throw up their arms and starting prepping for the Patriots. I’m just saying this has trap game written on it. I’m not the only one who sees that. And while the Patriots aren’t the same old Patriots until the Jets actually beat them - and beat them good- that one sided rivalry will be hanging around like a bad stench…..
I think the Jets can and will win this one. The Broncos offense and Wilson have been terrible. Now it's not easy to win at Denver but then again it's not easy to win at Lambeau and we all saw what happened there. I just hope the Jets don't get caught looking ahead (trap game) as they have back to back home games vs the Pats and Bills coming up. MetLife will be rocking for those two games.
This team in this stage of their journey there is no such thing as a trap game. That does not mean we will we win but a "Trap game"?
Gonna hold off on my vote until after I see the Broncos play tonight on MNF but I think we've got a really good shot and keeping this W train rolling. I could see a similar gameplan to the one we saw yesterday vs the Packers. Simmons might be returning for the Broncos tonight which means he should be back by next week. Broncos have a very good defense, especially in the secondary. I could see MLF keeping the ball out of Zach's hands and trying to ride Breece/MC to another W. Which might be the right call against this D. Their offense has struggled so far but they have talent in Sutton, Jeudy, Hamler, & Gordon. If our DL can continue to get pressure naturally, I think we have a really good shot. Them losing Javonte was a big blow to their run game as Gordon and Mike Boone aren't nearly on the same level.
The Jets have proven over this 3 game winning streak that they don’t have winning hangovers. 4th quarter comeback vs Pittsburgh… Next week they come out and beat the brakes off Miami…Week after that, they come out and abuse Green Bay.
I am hoping for a Jets win on Sunday. We never seem to play well at Mile High. The altitude, and a possible hangover from last week’s huge win, must be a focus. Denver QB Wilson has a bad shoulder. That should definitely help our rapidly improving defense. We can’t expect to run roughshod over the Denver defense. Zach needs to manage the game effectively. I’m leaning towards the Jets on this one. This team is young, hungry, and starting to come into focus. Hell after yesterday’s game I took out my Jets leather jacket and cleaned it up. I’m wearing that sucker with an increasing pride. Go Jets!!!
I hope they win every game obviously. Historically they don’t play well in Denver and there is the altitude issue on top of that. Some of these guys seem to think I’m saying they are not going to win - all I’m saying is there is a potential for a let down and that can happen with any team good or bad. This team is good, young, and exciting but they are still growing. I’m hoping for a W.
They're playing really well. I'm trying to keep tempered expectations, but its getting more difficult by the week. It feels to me like a similar game to Green Bay. Denver isn't great against the run, and very strong against the pass. I'm expecting a similar game plan to week 6. Limit Zach's throws, and go very heavy on the run. Denver offense is struggling pretty hard, so hopefully the Jets can shut them down like they did Green Bay. I won't say I'm expecting a win, but I'm not going in expecting to lose. That's a really nice feeling for a change.
IMO, this team is as focused as it can possibly be. Enjoy the win on Sunday, put the win on the backburner on Monday and start prepping mentally for your new opponent. Their mentality is never look past that, ever, if you do you fail. They are not allowing themselves to get a big head and underestimate any opponent. Hopefully they will not waste an ounce of energy worrying about any team past the Broncos. Keep the chip on your shoulder all the way. "We haven't accomplished anything yet" is their new mantra, and to a man talk about the errors they need to correct and the points they left on the table instead of the victory. One thing I know for sure, win or loose they will not get caught sleeping and they will fight to the end. As it is almost always the case, it will boil down to the classic three elements, win the turn over battle, avoid stupid mistakes, and proper execution of a game plan that leverages our strenghts and highlights their weaknesses. The absolute best quality i have observed with this team is that they believe in each other and are confident in themselves, entering each game convinced that they can win it. They are no longer the push over of the league, and opponents better not look past them either, or they will be unpleasantly surprised. I think if the D plays like in the last couple of weeks, Denver will have their hands full and then some.
This is a big test to see the growth of the team. Last year they went to Denver and lost 26-0. Possibly the worst game of the young Wilson/Saleh era. This year should be different.
Call me crazy but I would take the team there a day earlier than normal travel. Give them a day to get acclimated to the altitude and do the dress rehearsal there.
Bad game but the NE games were worse. Historically the Jets do not play well in Denver they’ve been shut out the last two times they’ve played there. Preparation for the trip may have a lot to do with it. Perhaps they will do things different this time ….
