I was thrilled to get the win. Not sure if my heart can take it if this is our only way of winning. Nice to see Zach come to life in the 4th quarter. Game balls to Davis, Joyner, and Q.
Wasn’t that the one where the CB peeled off? Situationally was bad more then the throw, better play by the CB
You are right about saving the line from sacks. Despite looking pretty rusty in the pocket he found away to avoid sacks. The jets only took 1 sack all game long. I am not sure how many times Wilson had to throw it away but it was a lot. Of his 18 incompletions 7 were drops and I am guessing most of the rest were throwaways because of the rush. There were a number of and and shaky plays by Zach but I have to give him credit for keeping confident. I sure lost all my confidence. So impressed they did not give up. But wow there are so many things to fix. I hope Mitchell is ok.
What a friggin emotional roller coaster. Zach looked every bit a young quarterback who hasn’t played a meaningful snap since last January for 75% of this game but wow did he put his big boy pants on for the last quarter of it. Just about as quick and decisive as I’ve ever seen him. can we talk about how fucking terrible MLF was today? How many times do we need to run up the middle on first down for either no gain or loss? Zach wasn’t good but no one gave him any help at all from the booth. You have a patchwork OL that is giving up Pressure every other play and you don’t run a designed roll out even once? This was shades of early 2021 MLF which was shades of Adam Gase in general. Maybe they were just being extra cautious and working Wilson back in slowly but that has to change. They were calling plays as if Flacco was still back there except Wilson knows how to escape pressure with the best of them. alarming stuff from the booth. what a friggin turnaround for the safeties. A lot of that was terrible quarterback play but I’d much rather them capitalize on it then continue to make mistakes. Reed and Sauce were great as always. Pickens was doing things that not even prime Revis could defend. That was ugly but I would much rather win an ugly game than lose one. I thought we’d be 0–4 to start the season so color me pleasantly surprised and very cautiously optimistic.
If you're not on the field it's an issue, next man up. Not trying to be insensitive but injuries or not, we need better O Line production. They stepped up big-time in the 4th quarter.
I thought Zach was just eradict. He came playing very conservative and made a couple of great throws then the bad interception. I did not think his pocket presence was as bad as you. I do think he tried to hard at times and off schedule stuff was actually the worst part of his game. He settled down in the fourth quarter and threw some strikes from the pocket Last week Flacco missed a key fourth down throw Zach with ice in his veins and throws a rope to CD. MLF dows not give Zach goal line throws. We hammer it in. We score but it hurts Zach TD stats.
O-line help was on the way, we just needed to get through this game without injury. That did not happen but if Duane is able to play next week it will help this line a lot.
My hot take of the day... We're better when we play to win than when we play not to lose. Sorry...that's all I gots...
One thing is for sure, Zach seems to click with his teammates a lot better than Darnold ever did. He seems like one of the guys whereas Darnold always seemed aloof.
