is it too late to declare an emergency? take your pick: QB, Ol, HC, OC, or DC? i think my favorite grad school test answer: all of the above..... new team slogan: all brake, no gas.
Good thing the Steelers aren't much better than we are so it won't be a blowout hopefully. We'll lose this one and most this season unless something radically changes on the field and on the sidelines.
I think most Jets fans would take going 2 - 2 in first 4 games when they saw the schedule this spring. Thats still a possibility
Best chance to win this side of the bye (unless Hoyer is suiting up for the Pats). If Saleh has any sense, we’d be prepared for this on all sides of the ball, even at the detriment of future weeks. If we are staring down the barrel of 1-3 and looking unprepared then Saleh can start early scheming for Black Monday.
Just excited to see ZW back. He's got 14 games to show me that he is the guy. Just like yesterday, not expecting a win. I really need to see a lot from MLF as well. Where are the easy throws? Where are the plus matchups? Stop sending Elijah Moore on 50/50 jump balls, put him in motion and let him get a plus matchup somewhere and the ball in space and he can make something happen. We matchup pretty well against Pitt (although I said the same thing about Cinci and they dropped 25+). Excited to see Sauce against DJ.
Lawrence has looked great (stat wise at least) the last couple of games - time for ZW to show he can also move to the next level (o/w we are either looking at trading for a starter or tanking (not intentionally just because we suck) for Stroud or Young)
While I didnt see all of it (flipping between GB-TB and JAX, ... Not annointing him yet, but Lawrence looked in command yesterday
Based on what I’ve seen so far, this is not a winnable game…the Steelers are not what they’ve been in the past, and Trubisky sucks, but their D, even without Watt, is going to rough us up fierce, Zach or no Zach. Our D may hold their own for like a half, but after like 2 turnovers they’ll give up and this won’t be close. I just don’t see a rusty Zach doing much better against a still tough D, and I’m sure we’ll get a few DB breakdowns or inopportune penalties on D to give the game away. here is another kicker scenario I can totally see coming…our D holds Trubisky in check but at halftime Tomlin puts in Pickett, the crowd engages, and we make Pickett look like an all pro…just like we did for Baker Mayfield in that game. if an OL needs to heal, the Jets pass rush is always the right opponent for them. Same for a defense…if they need a statement game, we are always happy to oblige. same shit we’ve been seeing for years. I didn’t think we had a chance against a desperate Cincinnati team, and I don’t think we have a chance on the road against a desperate Pittsburgh team. put it this way…the Steelers, even in down years, don’t go 4-12…a down year for them is like 8-8 or maybe 7-9. trust…they aren’t going to 1-3…we are their Get Well game.
A New York Jets team that literally stole its only victory this season is going into Pittsburgh to play in one of the toughest stadiums in the league. Their home field advantage is HUGE. How people think this is going to be a cakewalk for the Jets is beyond me.
I haven't seen anyone say this is going to be a cakewalk, but as long as this guy is the QB on the other side of the field and the fact that TJ Watt is out, this game is definitely winnable.
I'll be in California and I don't think I'm going to even try and watch. Why ruin my morning? I'll get notifications on my phone, that will be depressing enough.
