Remember when the narrative was that our QB needed to play "within the system"? I probably said it myself. Well... isn't that what White did today? And last week for that matter? We need a play maker at quarterback. Not all the time... but often enough that it accounts for another win as opposed to a hard fought disappointing loss.
In 3 starts, 2 of them in bad weather - Mike White has averaged 317 yards/game and the jets were in every game. If he can play at this level going forward, the td’s and wins will come along with more 300+ yard games… He does that, he’s gonna get a chance to be the long term starter. If I was a betting man, I wouldn’t be betting against Mike White.
Zach played better and got the win. Stop, Zach put on arm angle throw display that game that would have served Mike White well today.
The only thing you can say is that Zach played worse in his two losses than Mike White did in his two losses.
Whoever plays next week will play well because Detroit's defense is trash. If Mike White can't go I hope Zach is over the Yips. My prediction Zach will get starting reps this week as Mike White will be limited. Mike White will try to go but will not be able to last more than a series or two. If Zach still has the yips it might be Flacco.
I think after today - on top of the other shitty performance by Flacco - I think he gets demoted or cut and Strevelor becomes "next man up" after White and Zach.
I'm not even sure what this means so I can't respond. Got the win? The team has 175 yards rushing, 2 picks, multiple fumbles and 5 plus sacks. He was apart of the win and he didn't mess up enough to lose.
It was hard for me to tell who exactly because I was getting pelted with frozen rain and avoiding toothless rednecks today but damn the left guard Tomlinson or the Center McGovern, one of them was getting straight up abused today. It was bad in the middle of that O-line. Were they injured or something? how can you get abused like that
Ok, and Mike White did not do enough to win this game. A little biased are we. If Zach had that performance today you would have been all over him for one hopping a screen.
You're right, but it's not apples to apples and if you think it is the debate is pointless. As I said previously. If he had the performance white had today, same completions/conditions/hits/team play it would have been one of the best games of his career. Show me 5 games Zach was better in if he had that performance today.
Detroit's defense is not trash. It was at the beginning of the year but they've really turned it around and are playing great football on both sides of the field
We out gained them, we actually dominated them on 3rd downs. And that's with multiple players out or suffering injuries. I think our Jets are really close to being a good/great team and I haven't been the strongest believer as of yet
Another strong draft and an efficient FA period good really make them contenders. This rookie class talent-wise is like 3-4 normal drafts of concentrated talent. And then maybe someday they will figure out QB, because I am starting to get that familiar feeling that the answer is still not on the roster.
This logic doesn't make sense to me. So If you lose, you're not adequate and bad? That's the criteria? This Isn't a team game anymore? You only lose If your QB Is bad? You only win If the QB Is good? He hasn't shown that he's more than capable of being the QB of the team because he AND the team lost the last two weeks? That's a soft argument. IMO You should be making more noise for Zach Wilson then since he's a winner. 5-2 under center. Best QB we've had In a long time I suppose by your criteria. I don't think that makes sense to me at all. It's not that black and white.
Thing Is and Im a little slow to this line of thought. Apparently though. That doesn't matter. Stats, logic, we don't use those here. See. The actual criteria Is that Zach Wilson won against the Buffalo Bills. Mike White lost against the Buffalo Bills. Boom. Argument done. Mic drop. Nuff said....
