Bummed that my stream stopped working with about 5 minutes to go. Had to just watch the NFL Live Game simulation. Tough loss. MW further cemented his hold on the starting job. I liked that they finally are taking shots down field. Vikings did a good job of shutting down the run, but of course we didn't have our starting backfield - but Bam is a nice find. Playing a Vikings team that is now 9-2 down to the last seconds is nothing to hang their heads over. Still, these are games you have to win to be serious contenders. The youth showed, but a good sign for the future.
They had 1st and goal on the 3... I mean you run the damn ball in that situation over and over again until you score.
Why does MLF get pass happy when Ty Johnson and James Robinson. Both tough yard RBs…i don’t understand. MLF lost this game, and the tippy toes and drops of our receivers.
I have like zero faith in this coaching staff to do the right thing at this point. They've got a lot of talent concentrated and they keep tripping all over themselves in important games and key situations.
I still can't understand that sequence of events. I mean, we were at the 1 for third and fourth down. At least one of those plays should be a 2/3 TE look with an attempt to ram the ball down the defense's throat. If you're that close, you have to take at least one shot at it on the ground, especially with someone who runs it as violently as Knight does.
I’m here in Minneapolis and was at the game. Everyone burning Barrios but the playcalling all game was shit and twice White had Wilson open for touchdowns and missed him. Also the last play there was someone open on the back of the end zone (Davis?). White sucked in the first half but came on in the second but still missed Wilson on a sure TD. A game we should have won. What conclusion is drawn I don’t know
Conklin is also wide open on the Braxton drop in the end zone. That's the correct read, and it would have been an easy pitch and catch. To be honest I think this gets cleaned up this week with MW getting more reps with the 1st team and coaches in practice.
I'd be much better with losses if they didn't constantly involve the word "brutal" when describing how the game played out. Brutal personal foul Brutal playcall Brutal throw Brutal drop Brutal game plan Brutal officiating Brutal personnel decision "Brutal losses". The majority of the time these are on the coaching staff, and while I've softened up on them for the way they've made adjustments and rallied the team, they're still losing the majority of their games because of brutal something-or-other. Today was a brutal first half, brutal drop, and brutal play calling in the red zone. It's a constant with this team. I just have a difficult time trusting this coaching staff as a fan when you can attribute multiple losses to personal fouls, coaching decisions, playcalls, and game plans. It's overall positive at this point though, because it's all right there. They just need to clean it up a bit.
Jets dug themselves too big a hole with mistakes in 1st half. They still managed to put themselves in a position to win the game during their final possession. A positive take on a Jets loss has been too rare for too long around these parts.
That didn’t work 90 seconds earlier at 1st and goal from the 4…. Not sure why you’re so sure it would work the next time.
so the play calling was shit ...............but you remember 4 TDs the players left on the field. classic
fwiw... i personally wanted this game more than any other this year. its a fucking bummer. but its not hopeless/.
Are you kidding? All we've had is positive takes on Jets losses for over a decade. If you want to say a rarely deserved positive take on a Jets loss, I might agree.
Don’t know if you’re aware of this but two things can be true at the same time. Really, I’m not kidding. Look it up
I love the fight in this team, I just feel like the defense shouldn't have put us in this position to begin with. The defense did NOT play well enough in the 1st half. They committed 3 penalties on that TD drive and that can't happen. The defense arrived in the 2nd half but why couldn't they play like that in the 1st half? The play calling in the red zone was atrocious. I kept wondering when Mike White was going to take a stab at the end zone? I think Mike Lafleur was mostly to blame for not getting in the end zone. 2nd and goal? Why didn't they try a RB leaping over the pile? Why not another QB sneak? I just think we could've punched it in if we'd play more smashmouth in the red zone. I think this offense needs a FB. I think a FB catching passes out of the backfield would have ultimately helped this team, especially as a lead blocker in the red zone. At the end of the day, the Jets had MANY chances to win this game. MW missed Wilson on a bomb. Wilson stepped out of bounds. Corey Davis barely tackled. Braxton Berrios drop in the end zone. Any one of those plays work and we're victorious. Honestly, I think MW with more time practicing with his teammates will work out kinks and they'll be better through time. But I think a FB would have come in very handy today.....
