That would be the logical assumption, but I think he'll crumble under the pressure of everyone and their mother knowing he's the weak link on the team. He's had a life of adulation and isn't used to anyone questioning his worth.

and now God willing, Zach gets introduced to the bench for a game or more. Wouldn't bother me if MW gets on a run and Zach sits until next year.

Fields might play this week or might be out for the season with an injured shoulder. Despite the injury and missing almost half the season last year Fields is still on pace to pass Sanchez as the all time nfl leader in fumbles per game. As many big hits as Fields takes he might be better off sitting this week. Our defense could really hurt him.

If we can catch the Bears without Fields we'll be lucky--great day to start the backup/s

Yeah, it is true because they are wearing black for the Bears and Jaguars games. Assuming they wear white on the road, the only game left to wear a green jersey is against the Lions. Pretty crazy!

    23-6 Bears if Zach starts
24-13 Jets if Mike White starts

Is Zach red/green colour blind? That would explain a lot!

It doesn’t look like Fields is going to play with a separated shoulder. The Bears would be crazy to put him out there even if it’s not his throwing arm.

I’m going to say right now the odds are 50/50 as to who starts Sunday for the Jets. Perhaps Saleh starts Zach on a short leash with White ready to go. Perhaps he sits Zach as a lesson - the same way he treated Mims and Moore and lets it ride for a while. The Fields injury takes a little of the pressure off and as previously mentioned on this board Saleh may not even say who will start until Sunday morning forcing the Bears to work on two defensive game-plans.

The game is a must win though ….

I know you are super down on the Jets right now but you really expect Trevor Simeon to lead the Bears to 23 points or are you expecting 3 pick six and a safety from Zach

With the Bears already trading big name players on defense, basically starting their rebuild, they'd be crazy to start Fields. This season has been about developing Fields. There is no reason to put him at risk for a meaningless game this season.

But I can see them keeping it open so we don't know who to prepare for.

My gut/guess is Zach will start as well.

His 3 worst games have all come against the Pats. This Bears D aint 1985, so me thinks he will play better........but will it be good enough for our ravenous fan base on Sunday?

Zach will start. But he'll be on a short leash if the offense goes nowhere by the middle of the third quarter expect a change, Reminds me years ago when the Dolphins had David Woodley at QB. Shula would send in Strock if he wasn't effective.

We keep drafting QBs with no chip on their shoulder. I don't ever see the obsession to be great with any of them.

WE lose if we can not run the ball. I will lose faith on this CS and FO is Wilson starts,,, he should be benched for the foreseeable future

    I vote Jets to win.

Quarterback controversy? Hope its with the Bears QB and not the Jets. Saleh is on the sharp end of the stick. Its on him to fix the Jets Offense.

That being said...thinking Chili con Carne with all the trimmings for tailgation.

    Perhaps some chestnuts to roast...

Thinking maybe some Chicago Style Hot Dogs too...

If Justin Fields plays, I could see him aggravating his shoulder even more. I think the Bears would be wise to rest him.

After the Jet's pathetic offensive performance against my Pats, I am concerned if the Bear's defense can reign havoc as they did against my Pat's pathetic offense.

Both starting QBs Wilson and Fields may not even play.

This is not an easy game to call, but I will go with the Jets.
