Except for Lawrence this was always likely to be the case. The NFL had QB fever in 2021 and unfortunately we had a high pick and got swept up in it. Douglas should be rightly blamed for not turning the #2 pick into a mountain of value in a year in which the NFL clearly over-valued QB's in the draft. I was sick to my stomach when I realized the Fins had called the right play on the draft and in the process prevented the Jets from getting a windfall for their pick. They got lucky because they drafted Tua the year before and so the QB fever didn't touch them.
IMO the Phily offer was better. 2 fists, 2 seconds, and a third to drop to 6, and the 2nd and 3rd that year were the 6th overall each round. Plus they were able to trade down from 6 to 12 for another 1st and 3rd. All of that could have been ours. Look what they got with those picks instead of getting Zach: Devonta Smith - true #1 WR Landon Dickerson - starter at guard Milton Williams - DT backup AJ Brown - true #1 WR Jordan Davis - starting DT Cam Jurgans - Kelce's eventual replacement at center. They should build a statue to JD in Phily for turning them down.
That last td by Cleveland, brissett loses the ball as he hits the pylon … wasn’t there a call against us years ago(fitz years), where they ruled something similar a touchback? I know we were playing the pats
