Fair. Maybe it wasn’t as heartless as I made it seem. But it seemed as though calling the game when a guy was nearly gasping his last breath on the field was an easy and quick decision. And it took them over an hour to make that call.
I give a lot of respect to the Cincinnati crowd. They saw it all transpire like that and were respectful throughout
It's being reported that his vitals have returned to normal. Doctors are keeping him asleep while they continue to evaluate.
First Tua convulsing on the field after suffering concussion earlier this year Now this poor guy in critical condition..the Dr in video seem to indicate its a rare event..hmm. My thoughts and prayers for him!! Why does my gut tell me the injuries in modern age football with 250 pound track record speedsters colliding will start to resemble car crashes and train wrecks Will the NFLPA call for some investigating ?? Or are they as $ hungry as the NFL and Owners??
Yeah... I get it. But it's not up to the network to cancel the game... that's the NFL's decision. And that comes from the New York league office. I'm sure a lot of cell phones were ringing like crazy.
My point was that the NFL should’ve canceled it at 9:20. That’s 25 minutes after they started administering CPR to save a young man’s life. They didn’t cancel til over an hour later. Why did it take so long? ESPN and the NFL?
Now we all know why the doctors didn't let Mike White play. This game is cruel and savage. The NFL needs to figure out the gear technology, really sad how many injuries we are seeing. This includes the bullshit turf fields
If it was commotio cordis that AED saved his life. If they shocked his heart back into rhythm right away he has a great chance to make a full recovery. They will keep him intubated and sedated while they scan his brain and his heart. Sometimes these athletes have underlying heart issues, but I would assume an nfl player who went through the draft was tested for those things. Praying that’s “all” it was and not something worse like a stroke or air ti f irreversible. I love this game, but something I feel like it should be canceled.
I'm the last person to defend the NFL... bureaucracy at its lowest form. But the network execs that I know wouldn't be a bit concerned about lost revenue from the game being stopped.
This is worst case situation for NFL. National game, player falls down, things go critical. I don't know, I feel like lawsuits may stir up out of this
You keep referencing network execs. I’m talking about the NFL executives that didn’t cancel the game immediately. It was their decision.
I recall when Erikksen from Denmark collapsed from cardiac arrest during Euros 2020 they did i think play the game out. Espn getting more viewers now, so far they been handling it well. Booger McFarland and crew doing a solid job covering the concern
