Yeah I think you're right. Flores and Ross were so split on Tua that it wasn't fixable. Just heard this on the radio
Complete BS. Darlington is spreading the company line there. They have to satisfy the Rooney rule so it can’t come out that they fired Flores just to hire Harbaugh. give em a couple weeks for some BS waste of time interviews and suddenly Harbaugh will “emerge” as the top candidate. so disappointing that the media today will just report whatever the teams tell them. It’s their jobs to investigate, not funnel company PR like that
Flores, Zimmer and Nagy are all better coaches than Judge. The Giants are so concerned with the optics of firing a coach too early, yet it’s the right decision to clean the entire thing out and start over from general manager on down.
Pretty shocking to me that the Fins fired Flores. If Mara/Tisch have any brains, they fire Judge immediately, and hire a GM who wants to work with Flores, and give them carte blanche to move on from Jones if they want to. Hope it doesn't happen.
You'd think. But nobody in the NFL ever learns. They look at numbers and seem to take almost nothing else into account. The thing is, Belichick is an autocrat of a head coach; he doesn't surround himself with the best minds and talent. It seems like surrounds himself with guys who are good at delegating his orders.
I think Flores is a very good coach. I am surprised as well as thrilled that the Dolphins fired him. Now they just need to rehire Gase.
It seems to me like Flores is one of the few Belichick assistants who has done well away from Foxboro, but even he gets canned after a winning record. If it was over not wanting Tua over Herbert, he has a point.

So thrilled that Flores is out of the AFC East. It also means that Watson is most likely not coming to the AFC East.
I don't understand the Flores fire. You should only ever make that move if you are 100% sure you are getting Harbaugh. Otherwise it's a foolish mistake by Ross to get rid of a guy who grossly overachieved with mediocre talent the whole time he was in MIami.
