With the loss last night and the very real possibility the Isles lose the next 5 games. This season is basically.

As much as I’d like to make the playoffs it would send the wrong message to Lou if we did.

Lou is clearly deaf to all messages regarding the actual quality of the team, so in my view they might as well get an extra couple of home games in for the fans before they are eliminated.

The weekend went as expected. Regulation loss at Tampa and then a regulation loss at Carolina. RIP Islanders 24-25 season. Thank God for the Yankees. It seems like they have hit a 100 HRs already and they have only played 3 games. Judge already 4 HRs with 11 RBI's. Go Yanks and see you next year Isles and hopefully with a new GM.

Well, that game went about as well as could be expected - Ovechkin gets the record goal, but otherwise an easy win for the Islanders. Gretzky's remarks both on the ice and on the broadcast later were very classy - joking that he's glad that the game wasn't at Nassau Coliseum, since he lost a lot of games there, saying nice things about the organization and "Mr. Torrey and Mr. Arbour," and expressing pleasure that he got to spend some time with Butch Goring and Bryan Trottier today.

Congrats to Ovi. What a great accomplishment. Glad the Isles won but it's a little too late as far as the playoffs go.

What an embarrassment tonight! They should clean the house and that includes Roy too.

Swept by the archrivals, outscored 23-6 in four games. It is blindingly obvious that this team is a shambles, but there is NO evidence that Malkin is going to do anything about it.

And the Rangers have thrown in the towel on their season as their losses to the Lightning and Flyers prove. Still, they won by a touchdown over this garbage team we root for. FU Lou and FU too Malkin for keeping him on as GM.

Personally, it's not clear to me that firing Laviolette is the right move - it's not like he suddenly went from being a genius (most points in the league) to a doofus (out of the playoffs) in one year. That, of course, has little to do with Roy's situation, and absolutely, positively, nothing to do with Lamoriello's, the latter of whom should have been fired at least two years ago.
