and it's 3-3... if they lose this one after being up 3-0, they are done, most likely lose both games at UBS.
Up 3-0 midway thru the game and they still lose. I said Canes in 5. Forget that. They aren't recovering from this, Canes in 4.
For fucks sake that was terrible..... up 3-1 and a good amount of time left, I switched to the Knicks game to see a GREAT ending. Then switch back to the Isles to see one of the worst collapses ever....
I am not watching game 3 on Thursday. It will be the NFL draft for me. I will keep tabs on the score, but I know how this ends. Last night was a knockout blow. The Isles will say all the right things in the media that they are coming home, and blah blah blah fans support and all of that. They will lose similar to how they lost game 1. Then they will lose again in game 4 and the game probably won't be close. This has sweep written all over it. The talent gap between Carolina and the Isles is to huge. The Canes have another gear or two they can get to that the Isles don't have. We saw that last night during the 2nd and 3rd periods.
And we thought the Isles were bad. This has to be the biggest beatdown in hockey history. B/R Open Ice on X: "Thailand beat Kuwait 57-0 in an IIHF U18 World Qualifier Shots on goal were 122-1 Thailand (via @IIHFHockey) https://t.co/BGuhXSMUw7" / X (twitter.com)
That was very easy to predict - Varlamov wasn't the reason they lost Game 2, but he wasn't the reason they could have won, either. At this point they have nothing to lose by going with Sorokin. I expect them to get beat pretty handily, by the way.
Sorokin is as "good" as he has been all season. He seems to be the Islanders' version of Muhammad Wilkerson.
They just pulled him. I think he's shot mentally and won't recover. So much money wasted on that long contract.
The way he's acting right now is worrying for sure - this kind of mental fragility from a goalie is frankly bizarre.
