The scary thing about the INTs last time was that most were not against heavy pressure or complex coverages. What happens if/when Belicheat decides to bust out the exotic blitzes & looks?
If the Jets don't counter-scheme against a Pats game plan designed to attack the QB it's likely to get really ugly out there on Sunday. I don't know that they have the personnel to do it but they should be planning to run between the tackles a lot on 2nd and long and 3rd down. That will partially negate a lot of the zone-blitzing the Pats might otherwise do. They probably also should be doing a lot of quick slants when they do pass on early downs and in 4 and less situations. You do that and you incentivize the Pats to zone-blitz on later downs and then you run right at them.
Few injury updates Jarrad likely a week away Kyle Phillips the same as Jarrad. CJ hammy popped up, seems like he should be ready to go per Saleh though.
We ran the ball pretty good against the Pats last time and supposedly our O-line is better. I'd run the ball hard...
Yep. Keep Zach under 25 throws at all costs. Why not activate Perine and throw him in the mix. All hands on deck.
Because Carter, Coleman, and Johnson are all better runners. Carter should be given 20 carries this week.
This weekend is a rite of passage for young Zach. Like all Jets QBs, he gets to go into Fucksboro and will find out what it is like to stop hearing the plays in your helmet in the first quarter of the game.
We haven't really seen enough of Perine to judge him. He's either hurt or inactive most game days. He's finally healthy so play him. If Carter, Coleman and Johnson are all better, then Perine must really suck running the ball. Then again, if the CS has it in for him like they do for Mims, Perine may never see the field during a game. Of course, with our all-pro runners and receivers, its understandable why neither Perine nor Mims get meaningful playing time.
I figure the Jets can hang in there. Pats haven't looked anything overly special this year. BB takes advantage of mistakes. As long as we can win the turnover battle and run the rock, we should be able to at least keep it close.
Game time decision for CJ and the hammy. Sherwood may slot into CJ spot, staff really likes him. Kroft likely won’t play. Looking like a ton of Griffin, maybe we see YeBoah get in on some action after a few weeks of practice.
After all these years of dealing with this I think the Jets should pump The Sex Pistols at full volume into the Pats feed next time they're in town. Just let them try to communicate through Pretty Vacant at top volume.
According to PFF losing Mosley would be an upgrade, but I agree he is a big loss this week. Listed as Doubtful, so I am not sure it is a true game-time decision. Seems more like Out to me. Another tough year with injuries for the Jets. I can't even remember the last time they went into a game mostly full strength. Maybe Week 1 in 2019 against the Bills, although Sam was playing with mono.
