Lol. MY tailgate crew said the same thing. Apparently I had to miss the game for this to happen. I will take it. If we win next week in London I am traveling to Boston to watch the Jets against the Pats.
I just watched the Saleh's post-game presser. "We should've won the game at least three times in regulation." He owned that without pointing fingers. At least the Jets won't be going 0-17 is all I gotta say. The old man just ran into a friend of his from the gym in the local pizza joint, he's a huge Jets fan (STH) and was at the game. "I sweated more than when I lift weights." Haha.
No, no no. We can beat the Pats. You need to eat more of what got you sick. The trick is just enough to make you miss the game but enough to make you miss the entire season.
This is good to hear. I hate when coaches forget about all the mistakes just because a team pulled out the W. There are always things to improve on.
In this game we finally got a glimpse, actually a good look, at what all the Wilson hype was about. He is a star in the making. Even if the Jets lost this game at the end, he showed enough of his BYU flash in this game, at the NFL level, to leave all doubts behind. Nice work by Davis to come back from some early miscues to play a monster game. Good work by the much maligned O-line to give Wilson a chance to shine. Good work by the D-line to keep pressure on Tannehill. Special shout out to Guidry who despite being outweighed by 60 lbs made several unassisted tackles of D. Henry.
I bet he would do things differently with clock management at end of game. It takes a whole team to win a game and that includes clock management by the HC. Reminds me of Parcells after a win, always harped on the negative and things team could improve on. Just to prevent team from getting too high on themselves.
Was there a scheme change for OL or did we continue Zone coverage? I was happy to see Zach not sacked as much but I wonder what was the secret there.
Offensive line played much much better today. The offense made a lot of nice adjustments for this game. Still have a ways to go, but very refreshing watching today's performance compared to last week
THIS IS THE OFFENSE WE'VE BEEN WAITING TO SEE. Tons of motion, misdirection, Wilson getting solid protection, him making plays on the run. Listen, he made about 4 jaw dropping throws. The one to Cole was a seed. The one to Corey Davis was just stunning to see (and him basically saying what look he had to direct Corey to go deep was also a sight to behold. There was another one to Cole late in the 4th or OT which was so perfectly placed, and he saw how late the safety was (who was adjusting on the fly). Cole saw that and ran the perfect route. I just watched all of his throws. He def has room to improve but this kid has IT. Also you have to mention one of the few misses he had, but in a weird way, I'm glad the Jets got aggressive and let Zach throw it with 2:20 or so in the 4th. It was 3rd down and he made the right read, just have to make that throw in that situation. I'm curious about what others thought of this because conventional wisdom definitely tells you to run a safer play, either a run or a shorter pass to waste the clock. It almost bit the Jets in the ass honestly because the Titans scored. And that play would definitely be the talk of the town right now if they lost. BUT, This seemed like a big building block as to what this offense may become.
His answer to that big Corey Davis made me realize he sees the field really well...and the Jets are in good hands
The TD pass to Davis was the longest completion in the air of a Jets QB in the last five seasons. And the two 50-yard-plus completions in today's game were both 50+ yards in the air. Just in case anyone thinks we've seen someone with his throwing ability any time recently.
This is the first win for the Jets in what feels like forever where I actually cared, the season was still alive, and they pulled it off Obviously not going to expect anything crazy this season but still that feeling has been missing for quite a while, I’m sure most here can relate
