Sorry TDK, but what you're seeing IS the real 2021 New York Jets. I know its unbelievably fugly, but it is what it is man. No one really cares about the "growing pains" excuse when the team isn't even competitive. As it is, this version of the Jets would struggle against Ohio St. Send a thank you card to Adam Gase for recommending his pal Joe Douglas to the Johnsons.. As the Klingons say: "Revenge is a dish best served cold".
They need to concentrate on getting the pass pro improved first and foremost. The rbs and tes have been awful in this regard .
Is it the OL Coach responsible for this or the OC? Do they work in tandem on this on a per play basis? Can someone else besides Zach call out the protections? Something gotta give before Zach permanently becomes David Carr.
I don’t think it’s scheme or coaching as much as it’s talent. Ty Johnson missed dyne chip on Miller who beat Moses like a drum. Is that coaching or Johnson just executed horribly. Michael Carter missed a block on one sack. Rookie rbs are rarely good in pass pro. I thought lafleur could have used wesco in the backfield when we saw the rbs struggling . So maybe some on him not adjusting to what’s not working.
The weather for this coming Sunday is sunny and in the 70's so at least it will make for a nice day at MetLife. The tailgating (which is the only reason to go at this point) should be nice. As for the game hello 0-4.
I haven't looked yet but Vegas has to be giving the Jets 14 points at bare minimum Why bother watching ..really Another massacre upcoming
Titans open the week at -7.5 Vegas thinks this is a trap game for Titans. Line will move to 9 or 10 before Sunday I am sure.
AJ Brown with a strained hammy. Says he’s week to week. Julio also didn’t play some of the 2H yesterday because of “management” whatever that means.
The Titans are going to run up the middle for 200 yards. Other than Moseley, Jets LBs simply are not ready to play at this level of football. Jets offense can’t even move the ball 10 yards, I don’t expect them to all of a sudden have the light go on and become an offensive juggernaut. 30-6 Titans.
Real blowout potential on this one. The Titans offense is dynamic and functional and the Jet's offense is totally moribund. This is going to happen in front of the home crowd and whatever illusions management had about riding this out are going to be dispelled with one week to go until the bye.
That was well done. Thanks! Young teams improve. That is how it works. The Jets overall will be better than they have been so far as the young players and coaches get more experience. Will it be good enough to contend with good teams? I don't know.
Not all young teams improve. For the Jets to improve the players they are playing have to be capable of growing and thriving in the NFL environment. With a few exceptions they do not appear to have that potential right now. Most of the young Jets right now are probably a year or two to out of the NFL. This BTW is why the Bucs sucked with the youngest team in the NFL for much of their first decade of existence. It's why the Lions always suck.
You can go into specifics with individual players, I just mean the team will be better. It's pretty obvious. They have been brutally bad the first 3 weeks. The OL will improve. Zach Wilson will improve. The WR's will improve. The D-line will improve. The secondary will improve. The playcalling from Mike LaFleur will improve. The head coaching from Robert Saleh will improve. Everything is new with the Jets right now. And none of it is really clicking yet. It takes time to learn. Now, like I said, I don't know if they will be good enough to compete with good teams in the NFL, but they will definitely get better as the year goes on.
I just don't see improvement as a guaranteed progression from awful. It's just as likely that the NFL will get more film on these guys and their weaknesses will become more apparent and they will regress against the competition as opposed to progressing. The Jets have been so bad the first few weeks that I think it is an even proposition that they will be this bad or worse for the rest of the season. Again, experience does not always produce progression. Sometimes it produces regression.
