And yes, that is a very good point.

I hate to agree with you, I really do, but I have to. Zach has a clearly quicker release and delivers the ball with more velocity but that's about it - and the latter is plusses and minuses in roughly equal measure. Darnold looked far less lost out there than Zach has at a comparable stage. But Darnold never progressed and Zach may still do so. That's what we have got to hope: that today was rust and when the game slows down he will take what the D gives him and calm down on the easy throws. He has the tools, but he doesn't at this stage look like a guy who is developing.

I really don't know what that means. I've been a Jet fan since 1964. Been to many games and even have a family member who played for the club. Stick with the plan and they will improve. Rebuild takes time. Shortcuts are for media.

I really don't understand how you can say he's not developing after 5 playing just 5 games in the NFL. Today is an example of him actually showing growth, despite not looking great. He had a bad start, but a lot of that was made worse by terrible blocking and playcalling. But he shook that off and made some plays, and took what the defense gave him - which is what everyone said he needed to do - and came away with the win. Was it ugly? Yes, but there were signs of progress. He and the team need to keep building on today.

Today wasn't progress. Today was playing against a very bad team that was trying to find a way to lose the game - all game.

The pattern of the game was really simple and consistent with most of Zach's other starts.

No offense early and no passing game to speak of.

Second half recovery but not at a normal NFL level, just enough to score a few points and win. In most game it is just enough to score a few points and lose.

You can see this as progress but the facts are that Zach completed 58.3% of his passes for 6 yards per attempt with an interception. He did this against a last place team that had lost 8 games coming into the match.

I believe that you are wrong. I liked Allen in college, but his atrocious accuracy scared me. Zach looked 100x the part to me that Allen did coming out of college. Zach will be fine.

Not so much Mullens, but I truly thought that the Jets would and should have signed Beathard.

Darnold wasn't playing in this complex of an offense with this many rookies and young players, and he had played at a higher level of competition.

I still totally believe in Zach. He just needs time, reps, and experience. He needs to learn to play with his knee and rebuild his confidence

I also noticed at the beginning of the game there were a few offensive plays that blew up and Wilson just had 0 chance.

That being said, I think it's fair to require better games from Wilson to close the season out. He's the guy no matter what next year, but it would be nice to feel better about it going into the offseason

Absolutely, Zack needs to build on this and show improvement. That said, it might be of the "2 steps forward; 1 step back" variety. He showed improvement today, even while making mistakes. That's progress, despite what any of the "experts" here say.

I've lost count of the number of TGG posters who can tell a players entire career trajectory in 5 or 6 games. We have more scouting talent than the nfl. Some can even recognize super stardom in a benched player (Mims).

Zach Wilson was able to lead the team to a win but he wasn't impressive in any
sense. He was 14/24 for 145 yards with a rushing TD and an awful INT. Over the
past 4 games we've seen Mike White, Josh Johnson and Joe Flacco run the offense
efficiently. Unfortunately, we didn't see that same efficiency with Wilson running
the show. Wilson's timing, accuracy and velocity on throws to his receivers was
off, this has to improve. The best part of Wilson's performance was after the
game as he acknowledged his poor game and wasn't "giddy" with the win. I hope
this was a "rust game" and he'll be better next week because I wasn't happy.

It's very easy. The offense Is night and day different with and without Wilson In there. The kid literally looks like a deer In headlights. That interception truly should tells the story, does It not? That was atrocious on every conceivable level. The amount of plays that were blown up with Wilson under center Is exceptionally bad. I can't continue to blame the OL and coaches when this shit doesn't happen nearly this often with our other QB's In the lineup. His accuracy Is awful. Holds the ball too long. Struggles far too much with the easy stuff. Locks In to receivers A LOT. His numbers, his play, It's all reflective of a kid that just Isn't ready to be a starting QB In this league.

There was no signs of progress to me, It was just bad. If It looks like a duck, Quacks like a duck. It's a duck. As they say.

Hopefully It was just "rust", whatever other excuse people want to use right now... Truly. I hope so.

Doesn't look good to me though.

Lets make this Wilson question easy - you want the critics to shut up? Have a game like White had against Cincinnati. To this point, ZW hasn’t come close to a performance like that. So here’s my offer - have one game like that, and I’ll stop expressing doubts. (At least for a while).

We left about two touch downs out on the field. Still a win is a win. Glad to have it.

With the exception of Mac none of the other top QBs in this draft have looked good at all and comparable results to Wilson. Not sure the point.
