Yes it was on the NFL Network. It just didn't come on until the Bears-Bills game was over. It came on just in time for the opening kickoff.

That is understandable because you do not live in the tri state area.

There will be games, or portions of games, where Zach shows that he's a rookie, but if anyone doubts that he belongs, I don't know what their criteria is. Yes, this was against the Packers 2nd/3rd team players, but he dominated as you would expect a veteran to do (and even a lot of veterans wouldn't have done as well, including the previous Jets starter). But what was impressive to me was how he executed the script given to him, and then made the right decisions to go off that script when he needed to. And by staying on script for the most part, he allowed everyone else to stay on script too. Compared to Fields, who is quick to bail and improvise - which he is good at it - doing that might allow him to make plays, but in the long run, it doesn't help him or the rest of the offense learn how to play better.

There is no doubt that we got the best QB in the draft.

Its more that I dont trust most of the beat guys ability to analyze what they saw or think the saw on the field along with the agenda they have to draw clicks.

No problem. I found it in WLNY 55 Long Island CBS Channel after sifting through the guide.

Well, we haven’t play the season yet so there is that. Also, in the past we were kings of nothing and masters of the tank. So we are much further ahead.

Wasn't it he also manhandled by Green Bay 2nd and 3rd stringers during practice? It could be that Becton didn't go all out during practice because he knew Zack wasn't going to be hit. But he played well during the two preseason games. It was also good that Zack got pressure during practice so that he could learn how to deal with it without the risk of getting hit.

You're entitled to have the opinion that you are better able to evaluate what goes on with the Jets than reporters with decades of experience and full time exposure to the team, as impractical as that sounds to an impartial observer. You're even entitled to have the opinion that a writer would let an "agenda" for anything other than accurately reporting and frankly opining override his assigned task, but I believe that would be counterproductive to any career aspirations he may have.

    Just finished watching.

Zach looked great. Man I was really stoked when he moved left and came back right to find the receiver downfield. That was some high level play. Overall he was reading the defenses well and making good decisions and throws. It was a very impressive night.

Tyler Kroft made some noise to be a starter. Wesco looked good also. These guys are rumblers, and not gazelles, but at least they catch the ball and get some YAC. IMO Herndon should go before he starts stalling drives with drops. Overall TE is starting to look surprisingly solid.

All of our RBs seem serviceable, each able to flash now and then. None seem like a star yet though. ATM I don't think I could rank them.

O-line did surprisingly well except for the middle. We keep getting stuffed up the middle on short yardage, and thats against backups. AVT should help some but that is a weakness that is alarming.

The defense seemed okay and we got three turnovers. Our front wasn't getting a great push but our blitzes worked great. CJ looked rusty and Huff had to play most of the game and was contained better than I'd hoped. But we were opportunistic.

Another good takeaway was that kicked looked great. Pretty encouraging.

Now before I get all runaway hyped up there is one huge caveat. Like the Giants, the Packers backups frequently did not look good. After the first quarter our starters were playing against a third string heavy team, while we kept starters in a various positions most of the game. Its nice to see us looking good but that wasn't NFL caliber squads our starters were facing. Lets remember the Texans backups beat them 26-7 last week. I gotta reserve judgement until we actually face some starters.

Just watched the game. Wilson already looks 10x more confident than Darnold ever did. He's smooth, decisive, and makes good decisions. It's a bit early to say this but Wilson just seems a lot smarter than Darnold was. He seems to see the field more clearly and rarely makes bad decisions.

It's also nice to finally be running a modern offense. It's already pretty clear our playcalling just makes more sense than it did with Gase.

The defense didn't look great. Losing Lawson is really bad for that unit.

This is a funny post. I have no idea if the OP knows anything about football or not but being a beat writer does not make a football expert no matter how long you have been doing it for

Getting clicks is alot of their career if they want to keep a job. That does not mean they are uninformed but their job is to get readers. I wonder if any of the Jets beat writer ever actually played the game. If I cared I am sure I can find out.

I do not want my beat writers evaluating players I want information. Information about the organization., what the coaches are saying about players and som general info how they are looking in practice.

I have seen writers actively work to get coaches fired or hired because of a perceived beef or friendship.

Watched the game and.... our CB's are still a work in progress and they will be victimized this year quite often when paired against quality all-pro WR's. Front four was okay, but I saw too many times we got gashed straight up the middle. Now when QW returns, maybe that changes but yesterday, the Packer run game was rolling along with very little resistance. Wilson looked like a vet but again, it was against the 2's. He certainly looked far better than Sam did with us. The throws were where they needed to be. Now against a No. 1 defense, I think we'll finally learn if he can take a hit and continue playing at a high level. Morgan is a goner as he spit the bit. Mike White hopefully will be ok although I see him as the QB of last resort. That kid kicker looks great so far but again, its preseason and he really hasn't kicked in NE weather yet during a game. He also seems to have a bit of a lefthanded hook to his kicks but I like him better than Ficken. The running game by committee is a pretty good idea as it keeps guys from wearing down. We do need a big assed FB to wear defenses down. If GB cuts that big RB, we should snap him up but I know that won't happen. Our WRs are a huge upgrade over last year's collection of driftwood. I'm curious what happens when LeFleur opens up the playbook when the games start to count.

All in all, I was more impressed with the offense than the defense yesterday. I have my concerns but I also realize that the Jets are still a work in progress and what we're seeing now are the babysteps we've been looking for for quite some time. Without a PR, our CB's will get destroyed regularly. For once, I think we'll actually be in shootouts. Now whether we win those or not is the question.

Oh yeah, they did FINALLY pass on 3rd and short!!! Will wonders ever cease?? :)

Whats Conner Hughes or whoever have over someone who played the game and has watched just about every weekend of football for more years than Hughes' has been alive? Why did our new beat writer for the NYDN, who played the game, is a Miami resident and a Dolphin fan say Becton and Moses had good days, mentioned them in highlights of the practice while Hughes etc kept talking about the poor practice Becton had? Maybe like when I went to practice and noticed the LG play sucked without AVT?
Explain why you never hear a negative tweet about Lawrence when he threw 3 picks in a practice but you not only get reports of every Wilson "bad series" in practices, but bad practices. When a Cowherd says something completely braindead like Wilson reminds him of Manziel his twitter responses go through the roof. Think that doesnt help his show? Theres definitely an agenda. Their agenda is clicks and ratings. Youre naive if you dont think thats a part of their game. And constantly stirring shit or being negative sure didnt hurt the Manish and Ciminis of the world.

@REVISion mentioned it in his post but it bares repeating: we are finally running an offensive system for the current NFL.

A perfect example is the second TD pass. Sprint motion right with WR. Fake jet sweep gets everyone looking in that direction. Playaction roll out left. Leak the TE into the flat. Easy completion that turns into a TD.

Tons of pre-snap motion and misdirection through play action -- really satisfying to watch.

Wilson looked very comfortable and accurate. Hopefully they continue to call those slant routes when the season starts.

    Corey Davis looks great

    defense was a little shaky

Best composure and confidence I've seen from a NYJ QB since pre-Sanchez.
    It's real.

    the kid IS accurate.
it makes me realize just how INACCURATE Darnold was.
Darnold threw the ball: in the ground, into the line, off helmets, into the sideline, into triple coverage and to the other team.
    This kid seems...smarter.
Like his brain and his body are working in sync with one another.
