It will be interesting to see what they do. I think Blair could start at RDE because he's so good against the run, and isn't that bad as a pass rusher. On 2nd and 3rd downs it could be any of Curry, JFM or Huff. I'm not sure that Lawson will ever need a down off, but if he does, it could very well be Huff. On sure passing downs, I agree it will be Lawson and Huff unless JFM explodes onto the scene.
I hope that you're wrong about the Jets not re-signing Fatukasi. IMO they need to keep this DL together as long as they can. I could see the Jets maybe letting Curry, Blair and even Raskins walk at the end of the season, but Lawson, Q, Fatukasi, JFM, and Huff are definitely all keepers. I agree that Marshall should be a keeper as well.
another gasoline soaked rag to throw on the foul, smoky, burning myth of the Vet backup as mentor. JOSH FUCKING MCLOWN GOT 10 MILLION TO HOLD SAMMY"S HAND!!!
Good post. I'm glad to see that you're starting to come around. Maybe you'll decide to stay here next year rather than going back to the political forum, or at least spend more time here.
Supposedly, Shepherd has been having a very good camp, but due to his age, he might be the one to trade or let go.
Legit curious: Not just you, but why have some posters over the last few years felt the need to call him "McClown"? Except for Fitzpatrick's 2015 season, he had probably the best season (2017) for a Jets QB since Sanchez in 2010? And even that's probably debatable. Guy was a career journeyman, but was perfectly solid for his one year as the primary starter of a really bad team.
he was 5-11 as a starter. McClown cos he clowns people into having him on a roster. (nuth personal ever against 99% of players... the 1% i would explain my gripe)
I know this is down at the noise level, but I’m a little more comfortable with the QBs behind Wilson now. I’m thrilled at this team in general for a very professional and well executed pre season game. Major kudos to the CS. Also very pleased to see no injuries of any significance. You know I’m feeling pretty damned good when my only worry coming out of the game is the wondering about the kicker situation.
Agree to disagree, I suppose. You say clowns his way onto the roster, but the guy was much better than the alternatives on the roster, in Petty or Hackenberg, as we quickly found out when he got injured late in the year. Under the circumstances, as a bridge QB to get us to our 2018 drafted QB, he was as good as one could have realistically hoped for.
I was skeptical about McCown but he won me over with great play. Also, that team was ranked 32 going into the season and McCown was a big reason we were competitive every week. Once he went down our offense scored like 13 points total the last 3 games.
so we got a #6 pick instead of a #2 or 3 and thats a good thing? so we sucked sligggggghtly less. again. not tryna convert anyone. and personally he seems like a real solid guy.
Thanks... I woulda been here anyway... just like I've always been every season. I'm a life long Jets fan.... I can't shake it...
I agree-White pretty good, Morgan just ok. Except White needs to learn not to hand off to a RB who is already on the ground.
This is something else entirely. So we suck bad enough in this scenario without McCown, to earn the #2 or #3 pick, and then draft... Sam Darnold, again? At least we have those extra second picks, I guess.
You must be much younger than most of us who have seen more than a lifetime supply of third down plays called two yards short of the marker.
