The starters overall just looked competent and fast. Don't want to read too far into it considering the Giants played a considerable amount of 2nd stringers but so far so good for our starters.
It was a good showing for the rookie, they were playing it conservative for Zach and he still made a few heady plays. Didn't like the throw into double coverage but it's preseason. If he does it in the regular season that's not good. The writers will be comparing the fact that Fields had 2 TDs but honestly that passing TD he threw was a blown defense, you don't get more open than Jesse James was, not really impressive but Field did also look good overall.
Wilson day is done … I like what I saw from the O-line …. We were able to run the ball they had a good push going in the early part of the first quarter.. and Wilson had a clean pocket.. he was able to get rid of the ball quickly… only disappointed was not seeing Mins out there?? V-smith is ahead of him? Just ST for Mins? Hopefully he’ll show his worth with the 2s and 3s
What really makes me happy is the way both our DL and OL started the game pushing the Giants lines around. When we hear how tough it has been for our OL to block our DL in camp it is refreshing to see the Giants cannot block our DL either. Keep in mind we will get better once AVT is back.
Had it read cold JF ZW class of the crop. Never looked at Mond but he's the sleeper. ZW to my eye superior to Fields. Fields is a 1 read QB right now. ZW a surgeon with arm strength to burn. 1 bad throw early that's it. Fields looked like a clown show for a while
Wilson did okay/good against 2nd string from the Giants. Obviously a small sample size overall but he completed most of his passes, had good zip on his throws overall, made sound decisions overall. Only a couple bad throws, one really bad decision trying to throw between two defenders. Overall, he looked like he belongs so far. Again, a lot to prove, but, I'm encouraged.
He picked up 13 when he needed 14 after he just got a 1st down completed. If they don't stuff the 4th and 1 he gets 7 there ALL DAY and they're talking about him on SportsCenter nonstop. Don't fucking give me hyperbole kid is a beast.
