I think the overriding point is not that they need to get rid of Tannehill as quickly as possible. I think it’s that they need to explore getting creative in order to upgrade the position. That rosters ready to go and they probably have at most a two year window left before the roster implodes. I think they were rather content with Tannehill coming into this season. I’d be surprised if they don’t make a power play to get someone else. Carr would be interesting there if the Raiders try to get Russell Wilson.
I feel for you, I understand why you support him, we have this same discussion pretty much every year. The issue for Rodgers is, its always the same result. You can put blame on the team, but at the end of the day, he didn't play good enough to win, and had he played just a little better they would have won. Hes held to a higher standard, but his playoff play is predictable and consistent for pretty much a decade now. I think he can still salvage his playoff reputation, but its going to come down to him actually rising up and just doing it. He can now pick any team in the league to play on. Personally I think the Titans make a lot of sense for him but we will see.
It’d be a great fit, but I imagine he wants to figure out a way that he can spitefully beat the Packers in the playoffs just like Favre wanted to.
