The final stats are in. This is a purely statistical rating.

    1. Mac Jones
    Record 10-7
    352 / 521 for 3801 yards
    22 TDs / 13 INTS
    Rushing - 44 for 129, 0 TDs
    QBR - 92.5
    Drafted 15th

    2. Davis Mills
    Record 2-9
    263 / 394 for 2664 yards
    16 TDs / 10 INTS
    Rushing - 18 for 44, 0 TDs
    QBR - 88.8
    Drafted 67th

    3. Justin Fields
    Record 2-8
    159 / 270 for 1870 yards
    7 TDs / 10 INTS
    Rushing - 72 for 420, 2 TDs
    QBR - 73.2
    Drafted 11th

    4. Trevor Lawrence
    Record 3-14
    359 / 602 for 3641 yards
    12 TDs / 17 INTS
    Rushing - 73 for 334, 2 TDs
    QBR - 71.9
    Drafted 1st

    5. Zach WIlson
    Record 3-10
    213 / 383 for 2334 yards
    9 TDs / 11 INTS
    Rushing - 29 for 185, 4 TDs
    QBR - 69.7
    Drafted 2nd

Cutoff for QBs that didn't play enough to rank.

    Trey Lance
    Record 1-1
    41 / 71 for 603 yards
    5 TDs / 2 INTS
    Rushing - 38 for 168, 1 TD
    QBR - 97.3
    Drafted 3rd

Kellon Mond (pick 66) and Kyler Trask (pick 64) both sat and learned this season (behind Kirk Cousins & Tom Brady).

Take it for what its worth.

According to the stats Wilson was the worst rookie QB, and the worst QB in the league to start more than 4 games.
    Again, this is just statistics.

Tale of two halves for Wilson. He looked much better in the second half of the year than the first half because he looked comfortable.

The outlook for him, Fields and Lawrence isn’t great though. They’re also all in horrible situations.

It’s actually pretty amazing what Davis Mills did with that terrible team. Especially when you consider he played basically one season spread over two years in college and the entire Stanford program pretty much punted on his final 2020 Covid season and had tons of injuries around him.

We’ll it’s interesting…while we hear a lot about how Zach improved after his injury, the only real numbers that improved I think we’re the significant reduction in picks. Outside of that, yards per game did not improve, completion % did not improve, yards per attempt I don’t think improved.

so if we’re talking improvement, we’re really talking g more subjective type stuff…like he looked more comfortable, or he was playing with scrubs at receiver, or his OL sucked…etc

to me, I saw a few flashes…some of the throws he makes are REALLY nice…he’s got a great arm for sure. He put the ball in tight spaces. He was dialed back and it helped I think.

I was really hoping to see one or two signature games, but he never came close to 300 yards or 3 TDs or 68% completion I don’t think. He had a rough hand…the team around him sucks especially after so many injuries.

We’ll need to see improvement in year 2

This should be a lesson for drafting QBs. The ranking by draft spot went: 15, 67, 11, 1, 2. Somewhat similar to 2018 when after 4 years it ended up 7, 27, 1, 3, 9.

The word around here is 2022 is a weak QB class. How do we know none of the 2022 QBs wont be better than Zach, or Fields? Drafting QBs with a top 3 pick early in a rebuild is a dumb idea, and a great way to sabotage the rebuild.

Yeah it really sucks that we missed out on studs like Ian Book and Sam Ehlinger.

Not that I wanted Wilson, but when you don’t have a quarterback you generally have to keep throwing darts at the top of the draft until you find one.

You can’t just build up a great roster and insert any quarterback and expect to find success. The Colts have been applying this since Luck retired and are struggling to find their way into the playoffs. The Browns have one of the deepest rosters in football and are a sub .500 team because of their QB play.

Whats wrong with you dude? Have to keep throwing darts at the top of the draft? You should know that's BS. Is your dart throwing somehow worse once you build a team good enough to develop a rookie QB - so we better do it while we're still crappy? Give me a break. Its just decreases the chance they develop while keeping your roster stud free.

Its too difficult to develop QBs with crappy rosters these days. Show me one team that has done it successfully in the last decade?

Were where we are today because 4 years ago we used 3 seconds to trade up from 6 to 3 - to draft a backup QB.
Last year we declined a 2 firsts and 2 seconds to trade down from 2 to 6 - to draft a backup QB.

    Here we are.

You can act like that but the last 6 weeks of draft season last year I argued hard to trade down and everyone said, "if it doesn't work then you can complain". It didn't work and here I am.

You can resume your, "no it was great, and JD is great, and just be patient for another 2 years".

A little early to say it did not work. Next offseason will be a better indicator.

Is that what you said back in April?

Considering that, can we suspend all use of leprechauns, unicorns, rainbows and talk of franchise quarterbacks until such time it may be warranted? Can we refrain from demanding all here to get in line with the irrational exuberance about the GM, the draft and the coaching staff so many here are so deeply invested in?

You're entitled to your opinion. That, of course, has absolutely nothing to do with all the pie in the sky we've had shoved down our throats for the past year.

And by the way, just how long is a season? Douglas has been here 31 months...and counting.

Well, it's more than one, and it's less than four. Keep at it, I'm sure you'll get it figured out and tell us how well everything has been going.

the no. 1 seed in the AFC is the Tennessee Titans. They will enjoy home field advantage throughout the playoffs while our Jets ended another miserable season.

BUT- at least we rebuilded the right way and they didn’t o_O

Is there a way to implement a SMH button?

Here is the truth. JD is not being fired and he will be drafting and signing free agents this off season no matter how much you bitch about it.

I would much rather discuss who will be brought it and the impact on the Jets You can continue to. Itch about JD and the coaching staff. I am sure no matter who the Jets draft and sign you will bitch but at least it will be something different you are bitching about.

You have a pretty good memory!

Zach had four 60% PCT passing games, but none near 68%. No 3 TD games, and no 300 yard games.

He did have two games over 250 yards, with one of them being the 297 yd game against Tennessee.

Yes, it's just stats and his stats are better than Josh Allen's 1st season.
