Yet you said this just a few short months ago. But now he will be picking guaranteed busts in next years draft. You're a hypocritical troll.
using the draft, this is year one for douglas rebuild project, with one big plus if sam is the franchise qb we hope that he is. the trade for extra picks with seattle will help him fill in some of the holes quicker. it is actually similar to when buffalo traded out of the slot mahomes waqs drafted by KC to get extra picks. it is a forward thinking approach, which requires patience. building a core with the draft instead of wasting cp on very high priced free agents is the way to go. revis second contract and trumaine johnson should remind you of that!

6-10. A lot of hearts will be broken and tv screens as well, as the inconsistency continues. Gase will flounder, so the team will too. Sam will try to carry them but wind up costing them at times because he has to do too much to overcome the spotty talent and Gase's misuse of what talent there is. I can see an on-field shouting match between Sam and Gase by game 6 or 7, maybe (hopefully) leading to Gase being fired. If they aren't competetive in most games (KC, SF, Seahawks could be excused as long as they aren't embarrassed), Gase has to go.
We have a better team that will play better, and will need every bit of it with a tougher schedule and much tougher travel sch. Could go either way. IF we start hot and win a game or two and get a swagger, it's game on.
How do we get to our losing record THIS season? Will it be: a. poor OL play b. QB injury c. no pass rush d. poor coaching e. injuries f. a,b, and e g. b,c, and d h. ...
We have a better OL. We don’t have a better team. Most of it is the same as last year and in some instances it’s worse. We don’t have our all pro safety (which I’m fine with), our WRs are probably worse if Perriman doesn’t get healthy, pass rush is still non existent... what improved besides the OL? In theory that should make us better but they are going to take time to gel and we have a brutal start to the schedule. I don’t know if starting hot is an option. Just be competent. That’s all I ask of this team. Be competitive in all 16 games even if we only win 6.
5-11. 2-4 vs division rivals, splitting with Miami, getting swept by either Buf or NE and managing one win against the other because division games are like that. 3-7 vs. the rest of the schedule. Injuries and questions about Darnold and Gase competence continue to plague the team all season, fairly or not.
3 trips out west, 2 are back to back. Play in kc. I have no idea what to expect from New England, or Miami. 6-10. I’m always wrong though
I’ll say 5-11 But it’s worth noting that last offseason the Jets entered the season on a hype train after a couple flashy additions while the Bills were braced for mediocrity after a bunch of boring signings. Maybe a role reversal is in store.
Nobody is mentioning that there are 5 new OL man. I like how everyone is spot on guaranteeing this line will be better. One is a rookie, 3 are average starters that previous teams were fine to let go (while every one needs OL) and one is a stinky starter that left a team who’s OL is always bad and used the player the jets used to have to replace him.
My expectation is the jets will be a much better team and win 5 or 6 games this year. 6-10 seems like the safe bet. While the record is not as good as last year 6 and 10 against this schedule is a huge leap. Last year's 7 and 9 team while it won more games was a much much worse team that the 2018 version that only won 4 games. But in a Covid 19 year anything is possible. The Jets appear to be one of the better teams in preparing for Covid. Like the last two years I am much more interested in Sam than the record. I am skeptical that the OL will show any improvement or that Gase will learn to adapt when teams are pummeling the QB. I don't think Williams can pull off a miracle two years in a row. Playing a lot of zone worked well to hide our weakness at CB with Adams flying all over the field. Without Adams speed and playmaking the defense could regress a lot. This year has a real chance to implode and be a 2 to 4 win year. We really are going to need Sam to become very very good and carry us. Regardless, I am still looking forward to seeing us destroy the Bills and Allen on Sunday.
@Buffalo Loss 31-17. Allen makes his share of mistakes but hits his HR's as well. Our O never gets going. vsSan Francisco Win 24-21. We get irrationally exuberant. Great game by Sam. We beat the defending NFC Champions. We go toe to toe with them. Outplay they physically, get a few breaks @Indianapolis Win 27-19. Rivers shot-puts us a couple of gift INTs vsDenver Win 20-16. Jets defense makes a late stand to seal the W. Jeudy has a big game though which will cause some posters to proclaim we drafted the wrong guy vsArizona Loss 26-24 Blow a late lead. Same ol Jets etc. Murray running circles around us. @Los Angeles Loss 30-16. West Coast trips always murder for us vsBuffalo Loss 16-9. Probably an ugly game where we can't punch it in late to tie or some sort of SOJ bullshit befalls us. 1st and goal at the 1 with 30 seconds to go and we fumble, refs decide they need to steal a game from us etc. @Kansas City Loss 40-23. Just not on their level. Jets will probably kinda/sorta hang in this game into the 3rd Q before KC pulls away. vsNew England Win 23-21. At long last. Sam takes us down the field late for the W and we all dream of brighter days ahead @Miami Win 35-19. Bell and Perine both have big games. Sam throws for four touchdowns. 11 BYE WEEK 12 Sun, Nov 29 vsMiami Win 25-16. Tua growing pains. The offense looks really good for the third week in a row. 13 Sun, Dec 6 vsLas Vegas Loss 21-16. They probably come here wanting to avenge last season when we embarrassed them. This will be a tough game. @Seattle Loss 28-13. Lots of hype but Adams not really visible in this game one way or another. Our offense in that powderkeg is going to have a lot of problems @Los Angeles Loss 31-21 vsCleveland Win 28-20. Browns are a 5-9 mess at this point. OBJ is on the sideline with a minor injury that he chooses to not play through. Mayfield making a lot of immature comments in the press. Landry has been traded. Sheldon Richardson taking idgaf personal foul penalties... @New England Loss 20-9. Meaningless game 7-9. But noticeable improvement. I think we can get to 6-5 this year which will get us revved up a bit before reality sets in.
