Nah. That toss was just a brutal playcall on third and goal. The toss is a terrible goal line play; if you don’t seal the edge you’re going to lose yards.
Not overrated but this is where analytics get HC in trouble, he went for it because the field position was in his favor as well. Parcells said never chase points early in the game, let the game determine when to chase points. Points are a premium in playoff games, keep on adding them.
Reich has done this a lot. He did it last year versus the Dolphins in a dog fight with their backup QB and burned a bad timeout. He's less of a dbag than Pederson but it's the same overaggressive school of thought.
Especially that one-foot pivot toss. It's been way too overused and you should only run it against the defense if it allows it.
