Because tanking would have benefitted us, whereas the Eagles just pissed off their QB after having already pissed off their other QB. So unless this is a master plan to draft Trey Lance, Pederson was stupid.

Well. The Eagles improved their draft slot by going from 9 to 6. So the tank in theory did help their draft position.

Unless the Eagles have a master plan involving Trey Lance, the jump from 9 to 6 wasn't worth the negative locker room effects, especially since Pedersen and Hurts likely aren't going anywhere.

Well. You missed it earlier in the thread when I said his goal is to ruin as many quarterbacks as possible. So it's very probable that that is his master plan.

In reality - it obviously wasn't to improve his draft spot. But that's a more compelling statement than giving Sudfeld a consolation quarter for "being there."

If it wasn't to improve his draft spot, then why did he do it?

Well. The Eagles/Cowboys/Giants all yield a much bigger rivalry with each other than with Washington. I don't believe that was always the case but with Washington's poor two-three decades it's become the case.

And Rivera coached Pederson on Andy Reid's staff in 1999 so I'd imagine they're pretty friendly.
