You are correct in your last sentence. Mayfield fumbled it, therefore if the offense other than Baker recovers it, it is at the point where he fumbled it. Since Hunt recovered it, it reverts back to where fumbled which was short of the first down. A lateral would have to have been intentional which that clearly was not.
Defense looked solid, especially in the first half. Guys are still playing hard and giving it their all, which is good to see. That is the kind of competitive culture you want in the locker room. Also feels good to pay the Brownies back for the 86 AFC Divisional Game!
With the draft capital we have and some young guys looking pretty decent. I think the future may be brighter than some people think, especially if we can land the right coach.
There was a play in the 70’s involving the Raiders that sparked the rule. It is specifically n the last 2 minute of a game I think.
Chase, Smith, Waddle, Bateman, Olave, Marshall, etc.... There are good prospects to take in the first two rounds.
I never knew Brook! to be so profane!!! He just blitzed everyone in the Jets organization with a cavalcade of F-BOMBS!!!
I think the last team to start 0-13 and win their last 3 games was the 1986 Colts. They wound up winning the AFC East in 1987....I guess you never know.
Ron Meyer was the coach and all-world punter Dean Biasucci! I love your posts, Mr.Jet....they always take me back to the mid to late 80s and my childhood, haha!
We won because we are now an unstoppable pigskin juggernaut.....The Chiefs, Packers and Saints, et. al. are thanking their lucky stars that they won't be facing us in the playoffs! we just turned it on a little too late this year is all, but NEXT year is ALL OURS!
So? I don’t think the Colts beat any stalwarts either. The point is you never know what changes an off season can bring. The Jets will have a new coaching staff, draft capital, and some good FA money.
