Raiders beat Chiefs by throwing deep over and over, and hooking up on those bombs. Didn't work too good their 2nd game. But with our pass D (3 rookies) look for the air raid again. But deep routs take time to develop, and in comes Q reeking more havoc behind the LOS. Game can easily be a blow out (Raiders). BUT if Gase uses Herndon and Herndon actually plays well, Jets can keep this close. Now on to Sanchez: He was NOT a good/great QB during the regular seasons, BUT he lit it up on our 6 PO road games. Mark's PO QB #'s were the best in Jets PO history. Better than Namath's too. For some reason he played great in those wins.
I gave you the reason I think we should lose, well here is my pessimist view of why we could win: 1) Raiders are ridiculously injured at important positions (LT, RB, LB) 2) They are horrible on the East Coast 3) Langi is good covering TE and Waller is their 2nd biggest weapon (their biggest weapon Jacobs is injured)
Great points by @FrontOfficeFanatic, except I think Waller will still have a big day. The Raiders want it more and I think will play better than Miami did last week. Still, the Jets offense and Sam has potential to get right with some throws to Mims, Crowder and Perriman. I would open it up and use the other running backs more, but we know Gase's love for Gore. This is another winnable game for the Jets. Maybe the most winnable one they have left since it is at home. The 34-3 win last year included Darnold completely outplaying Carr. We will see what happens on Sunday.
Jets always seem to play the raiders tough, either home or away. One of my best memories was the 1982/3 playoff game against Lyle Alzado and da raiders. We got the fantastic win on the road then faced Miami in the AFCCG (ug...the mud bowl). I wish we still had Freeman McNeil! I wasn't watching football when we beat the Raiders in rout to Namath's SB win, but I'm sure that was a great win to! (I know one old timer is about to chime in...)
Ty Johnson should be given some more ball, averaging 7.5 yards on the run, use him and see what he has, Adams not so much but both 3rd season pro's and Perine is still fucked. Ah, well, who are we kidding? Gore to run 18 times for 67 yards
I wasn't alive but I have watched it recently and that was one of the best Jets games ever. I am sure some would say it was the best. 27-23 to win the AFL Championship. Namath to Maynard for the game winner. Great stuff. Yep! And 10 catches out of the back field for 12 yards.
Hoping the Raiders come out angry and just put the Jets down early, but this feels like that game where the Jets might screw this entire season up by pulling out the W. Come on Jaguars, help us out.
I think a lot of posters are giving themselves anxiety for no reason. The Jets are not going to win a game this season, they are the worst team in modern NFL history. The Jaguars would beat us by 2 touchdowns this year.
Any Given Sunday! Jacobs is out for the Raiders. They are coming off a terrible performance and you think the Jets can play well at least one week. You are right though. Last week Miami was flat out pathetic most of the game and still won 20-3 and could have made it 27-3 if they wanted to. It's remarkable how bad the Jets have been lately. Still, I think the Jets have to put a good game together. It's hard to play bad every week. I get a feeling tomorrow will be competitive.

Miami gift wrapped the game for us with terrible protection, stupid penalties and a bunch of fumbles and they still should have won 27-3, Raiders are better than them and need this game

If we lose and Jax wins we should fire Gase because that would make us a near lock for the 1st pick.Jax has the lead over the Vikings in the 3rd and i hope they pull out with a win.
