You yourself said in the post I quoted that you'd sign up for taking him knowing that you'd have to trade him in 4 years. No way I'd take that. That's not smart GMing imo. You don't take a player #2 in the draft that you know you're going to have to trade when his rookie contract is up or have to trade the prized OT that you took in the top 10 last year. That's nuts! It's a complete waste of draft capital. With what top OTs get paid on 2nd contracts, and with Mims due for a 2nd contract, plus other players, chances are that one will have to be traded, and if the Jets keep Sam and roll with him, with what he will have to be paid, it will guarantee that one of Sewell and Becton will have to be traded.
And he threw that away when he had more time to survey the field. He just has no pocket awareness whatsoever
If the Jets don’t trade down I think Sewell should be the least likely pick. They need a playmaker or even EDGE there if not QB. You are correct regarding contract status. Sewell is really a LT and not only would his talent be wasted at RT but so is the #2 pick in my opinion.
That's not even a good business decision! In chess, you want to hold onto the top pieces, not needlessly waste them. If you're going to use a metaphor, please at least use it correctly.
Jets get the ball to start the 2nd half with a 10pt lead. Reminds me of our AFCCG against the Broncos!
I don't understand why you wrote the bolded part/ I'm not denying that I'd be ok if that's what they did, BUT that's NOT my preference. And again, you don't know you'd have to trade him. In the meantime there's a very good chance that he helps anchor an elite OL. If you disagree, fine.
