I think you gotta live and die with big plays and Mahomes beating you on the ground (bad foot) by playing man to man defense against the Chiefs. This zone coverage gets destroyed by these underneath throws. Force them to beat you on big plays.
Hill chickened out on the first down run and went to the right when he could have gone straight and gotten the first down (and gotten hit). They didn't get it on the next two downs and only got a FG. That's 4 points they might have gotten.
Kelce is an above average athlete but it's not like he wins in speed or out leaping guys or even bodying them. He's a master at finding the open hole in the zone and having a great rapport with Mahomes. He's an all-time great so it's hard to emulate but I don't think it's impossible to find. I'm a big fan of this guy. Had my eye on him since last year. Willing blocker, solid athlete (not going to run by anyone) and knows how to shield defenders.
Wouldn't mind getting him, but I like Jake Ferguson out of Wisconsin as he does many things well, but was underutilized.
Yep. I could rock with Ferguson. Same kind of guy. Big body and uses it well although won't dazzle anyone with athleticism. I like those Big 10 style tightends because they're mandated to block. It's a lost art and a huge advantage. The league became a bit enamored with the Jimmy Graham types in the early to mid 2010's until they realized that they're massive liabilities trying to block the edge. The Seahawks learned that the hard way when they were telegraphing their run/pass plays by pulling him off the field because he was so bad.
Andy Reid struggled to get to the Super Bowl for so many years. The Super Bowl will become the new normal for him with Mahomes at the helm. Mahomes will now be heading to more Super Bowls than Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers ever got to.
