Did you see the segment with the doctor from Atlanta, GA? She ended by saying, "Though we've been burned before, we always rise up." I know rise up/Altanta Falcons has positive connotations but not juxtaposed next to a burned out city. That's Confederate Speak for The South Shall Rise Again, after Atlanta was destroyed by the Union Army and was a turning point in the Civil War. What a stupid and terrible analogy, F-, Dr. Ilene Benator. WHAT THE FCK AM I LOOKING AT?!
I mean the team has went need with every pick. It’s certainly a drastic change of pace than what we’ve seen the last several years.
True--but its difficult to see a unified pattern in the picks and this gives people concern about what the plan is if there is one.
I'll be honest, I like what I've seen from Zuniga. He's got some work, but he does look like he has a good upside.
yeah I'll take a wait and see approach ....lots of bust potential and raw talent in all these picks tho was hoping for a few sure things especially in the first 2 rounds.
I do as well people see Florida and get nightmares I get it. But he might have a chip that nobody knows about and becomes a stud
Well except for Becton, I'm not real excited about these picks. All I can say is that I hope Douglas knows what he's doing.
I know. Zuniga is a DE not a DT ......seems to have good moves. Just because Polite came from the same school doesn’t mean anything.....I guess some are having flashbacks.
Problem is this entire draft has been about upside and not about actual skills/needs. Every pick has been about what these guys can become not what they're coming in as. That's why our roster has consistently been devoid of talent.
I would like to see us take another receiver and then throw an offensive lineman into the pipeline in the 4th. Runningback should get a good look soon too. Maybe even the next pick over receiver.
The fact that all four players hit our biggest needs suggest that we may have passed on better players for that reason. Not how I would do it.
IMO this is the difference between Douglas and Mac. Douglas is looking for talent and who can fit the Jets's scheme. He ranks the players accordingly. Mac rated players based on how they stacked up against other players at their position and against other players in the draft then gave them a grade regardless of whether they fit the scheme or not. We'll see if Douglas and the Jets's scouts were right about how they rated players and where they took them. Each of these guys should be a great fit in the Jets' scheme and should have pre-determined roles for them. Also, remember that Douglas was looking for high character guys, who hate losing more than they do winning, who will work and play hard and smart, and who are versatile.
