I think it's because many Jets fans have simply lost it. They are so tired of all the losing and incompetence, that they have no patience, and are just going on emotions (mostly frustration), and not stepping back and thinking logically and rationally.

In the past several pages where we are talking about Ashtyn Davis, who said anything remotely close to tear it down?

So, does Douglas get six years to see if he can produce a winner, or does he get an extension? At what point do you think allowing the status quo to remain is futile? I haven't called for Douglas to be fired...yet. But he's running out of time as evidenced by the lack of progress - that's all most of us require at this point. And I don't count amassing draft picks and cash as progress.

Yep. Strange how that happens - win games and the guys making the decisions and the plays get to keep their jobs.

It takes 3 full seasons to officially cast judgment on a draft class. 2020 draft class is about half way through that time period.

The 2020 draft class is average at best. With Hall the only real hit. I like Becton and think he will be good if healthy. But maybe at right tackle. Mims, Davis, Zuniga, Perine, and Morgan look like all misses. The punter not the greatest either, but maybe serviceable. We brought someone in off the street that has been better. The trade for Indy CB was fail. I will throw in the UDFA, which I think JD is really good at! And we got 2 starters and couple depth guys. And it comes out average. The trade down looks like a bust! To be honest not that much better than Macs best draft.

The 2020 draft class looks great compared to the ones that came before it - 2014 being a particular low point.

never said that at all. I was making the point that numbers without context mean nothing

I understand that, I just don't understand the need to key in on person as being complete trash because you seen 1 bad play from him. even the casual fans have talk shows, radio shows, pod casts, youtube, PFF and a crazy amount of resources but they see 1 bad play ignore everything else and then trash someone for days. I can't see that mentality personally from any somewhat normal adult

It's way more than 1 play. I feel like that's been said ad nauseam.

people say that but can't give any examples. thats the issue. I haven't went back and watched it yet but PFF did think he had a great game so clearly someone here is wrong but nobody is arguing their point with anything substantial.

except for the guy that showed you every time Davis has been in coverage the QB has a perfect QB rating. That was substantial but your rebuttal was comical

Speaking of Becton, wasnt he given a 4-8 week diagnosis... 9 weeks ago?

when can we expect him back? IF we can expect him back.

From naked eye, looked like Davis was trailing on every play…. He was in on tackles, but got tired of seeing 21 trailing every big play Indy had. On the big run , he was there, on the other long run, he was there, on several passes he was trailing. Not sure, but something was common thread in all of them, 21 was running 5 yds behind…. So could presume it was on him, but could be wrong. To the fan, sure looked bad on his part.

This goes back to one of my original posts.

Time. I'd say most people don't have time, or care, to go back and get the specific play/quarter/time/situation if that is what's required for validation. But I can easily say look at Davis in a dozen plays against the Colts where he either:

Had to brace himself 10-15 yrds away from the runner to stop him
    Took a bad angle
    tackles behind the play
Was clearly in the wrong spot of the field as it was wide open behind him.

I can't tell you look at play 5th play on the 4th possession of the game for the Colts. I have way too much other shit in my life, hobby/family/professional.. also, I have no interest in doing that. If you can do that, great. I really like the detail you bring to the board... But this goes back to it's very possible to tell if someone sucks, or is great, by watching the game and not drowning in tape.

PFF is wrong. I'll leave this convo at this.

Shocking that a 370 lb man would take longer to recover from a knee injury.
