You're young, right? The whole "hate the Cowboys" thing is just an older version of today's "hate the Patriots" thing. It's about people who weren't really football fans all of a sudden becoming Dallas fans regardless of where they lived because they were winning at the time. It's about that whole smug "America's Team" marketing line that dolts and dipshits bought into. No offense to your in-laws, of course.
I'm 34, so I was around during the "everybody is now a Bulls, Cowboys, Braves or Yankees" fan era. I just never really gave two shits. As for my in-laws, my father-in-law grew up in the era where there were only a few teams on TV and the Cowboys happened to be the one he chose because the local teams stunk (he grew up in CT, so the Pats... thank god he didn't like them). I dunno, I tend to feel like if they don't effect the team I like, then who cares.
A huge improvement on last week i predict. a 10-24 loss. We'll score a blocked punt for a TD and kick a field goal after recovering a muffed punt on the 1 yard line and ending up having to kick a 45 yard field goal which will double doink and go in. David Fales will come in after the first drive as Sam Darnold has to leave with (name random illness). He'll throw 2 pick sixes meaning, at least the defense is ok! But going in the right direction! Then the week after we'll keep improving, let me just check who we play week 7.......... oh shi........ Honestly, even with Darnold back i can't see anything except a 14 point loss. Our first chance of a win comes against Jacksonville, then hopefully it will definitely arrive against Miami. It ain't going to be pretty Sunday.

The Cowboys were called America's Team and just like we currently have P*ts bandwagon fans, there were probably 5 times more Cowboy's fans around NY at the time. Just like all bandwagon fans, these bandwagon fans would not shut up about their "team", making it easy to hate them.
YEP all true and BTW I have told my kids this often as its hard for them to grasp but in the 80's you could not FIND A PATRIOT FAN or any merchandise in the stores. NO ONE rooted for the PATS unless they were born in Boston and then as Waterboy said people jumped on the wagon in droves ---which is exactly what happened to the Steelers and the Cowboys as well
The main thing that I hate about the Cowboy fans is when they are winning, “You can’t throw a dead cat 5 feet without hitting somebody wearing a Cowboy’s Jacket” (to quote a friend) but when they are losing... there are none to be found.
I like Jerry Jones. Brilliant man. I could listen to him speak for hours. I hold no ill will towards the Cowboys.
The O Line will come together this game. They finally have Sammy back there and they will be stout as oak! Leveon will create madness. Sammy will have to come out of the pocket a lot to avoid the rush but he can do it better than those other skidmark QBs they tried while he was recuperating.
