I'm betting CBS protected Texans/Chiefs, and Fox probably protected Rams/Niners. Past those games, kinda slim pickings.
So rather than try a long fg or try to gain a yard, they punt....ok then. At least they pinned them at the 2. Then two straight terrible throws from Rivers and a pick and it doesn't matter anyway.
Actually it aged very well. At that point in the game, he did look better. But I also said he has to be consistent if he wants to be a franchise QB, which he was unable to do.
so he looked good 40 mins into a 3 hour game but then looked bad the rest of the way? is he that awful you have to pick 1 drive out of a whole season he didn't look awful on to defend him? lol
I wasn't defending him. I was pointing out that he looked good to start the game but needs to look like that on a regular basis. In other words, I was criticizing him.
IDK if you have to specify someone looks good 5 mins into a game, it usually means you are reaching to want them to look good. I mean 1 game isn't even a good thing to judge on let alone 1 series
I hate to break it to you, but I don't want Baker to look good. If you read my old posts from before the 2018 draft, Darnold was my guy. Plus Baker is a douche so it's nice to see him get humbled.
for sure. just seems odd to say someone looks good 1 drive into a game when they have been awful in the season if it's not a jets player. sounds like something we probably all said about 1 of our many bust draft picks at one time or another
Good thing the NFL resolved the replacement ref issue a few years ago, wouldn’t want to see poor officiating costing teams games.
Flowers called twice for hands to the face, a penalty he has NEVER been called for in his entire career. Both times his hands were on the shoulder pads. I get that sometimes there will be a bad call or two, but the phantom calls the past two days have been ridiculous.
Yep, complete garbage. That was the first non-Jet's game that I've watched this season, and it disgusts me. Call a player twice for illegal hands to the face who has never had such a call in his entire career in crucial situations. Way to give the game to one of the NFL's darling teams in Green Bay. The NFL is a joke.
Watching the game I was thinking..."cool, the refs are letting them play football"...then that shit happens. What a joke.
Not only those 2 phantom hands to the face, but also the blatant PI against the Lions receiver late in the game that would have given them a 1st down deep in GB territory. Instead they ended up punting. The announcers and what's his name the rules guy were all like WTF how is that not PI
its beyond insane.....seems like the 2 kinds of penalties that are causing the most fire are the roughing the QB and pass interference. no idea how to resolve this but i am all for some type of technology to become the solution.
